Wednesday's Accomplishments

Today, I went to the office and had a very productive day.

Around 11:30 a.m., I called the billing office and got their voice mail, again.  I left another message, but no one returned my call!  I will keep trying.

Breakfast was a yogurt and a little granola type cereal added to it for crunch.  For lunch, I had another salad:

Salad: Lettuce, carrot, dried cranberries, cashews

I hadn't taken an afternoon snack, so was feeling tired and hungry by the time I came home!  I ate a kiwi while my tea brewed and, afterwards, I watched some news, knitted a bit, and relaxed.  Then, cooked dinner:

Dinner: Chicken breast with plum sauce, baked potato, green beans and carrot

Dinner was easy.  All I really had to do was cook the vegetables and bake the potato, which I did in the microwave, and heat up the already cooked chicken breast.  There's enough chicken and vegetables for tomorrow's dinner; I'll just have to bake another potato or boil some corn.

Later, I put away the rest of the laundry that had been hanging up to dry and video chatted with daughter, who had gone on a 2 hour hike with some of her colleagues after work!  She booked her flights for Thanksgiving - she'll be coming down for the whole week, then.  There might be one or two additional visits between now and then, as well - she might need to come down when I am scheduled for my endoscopy and colonoscopy, and, again, when it is time for me to host the monthly prayer gathering in October.  But, I don't have any dates for either of those events, yet, so she can't book her flights, yet.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A productive day at the office
- Safe commutes to work and back
- A relaxed evening
- An easy dinner
- Video chatting with daughter

Wednesday's To Do List:
- Go to the office - DONE
- Call the billing office - CALLED and left yet another message!
- Put gas to the car - THURSDAY
- Put away the rest of the laundry - DONE
- Cook something for dinner! - DONE

Tomorrow, I have to go for a mammogram in the early afternoon.  I had a previously scheduled appointment with the podiatrist for tomorrow afternoon, as well, but I called them, today, and rescheduled that for a later date.  One medical appointment per day is enough, I think!

Thursday's To Do List:
- Put gas to the car
- Go for mammogram
- Do the dishes/run dishwasher
- Clean the litter box
- Another load of laundry - maybe
- Tidy the living room and dining room

How was your Wednesday?

  1. You must be very organised to keep on top of all your medical appointments like that Bless. I hope they all go well for you.
It's lovely you are able to look forward to your daughter returning later in the year and I do hope she can make it hope before Thanksgiving as well. X

    1. Thank you, Jules. I do try to be organized when it comes to keeping track of all my appointments! I write them down in the wall calendar at home, in the little one I carry in my purse, and, in my office planner, as well! The more visual reminders the better! :)

Hope things are going well for you. Take care.

  2. I hope the mammogram gives the good reults you want. How long will you have to wait for the results?

I bet you're looking forward to having your daughter home for the whole week at Thanksgiving.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I usually get the results back in about a week to 10 days. If not, I can call my oncologist's office and ask them if they've received the results. It's almost 3 years to the date when I received the not-so-welcome results from a mammogram, saying it was abnormal and to contact my doctor!

Yes, it'll be fun to have her home and, since she will be taking vacation time off, we might be able to do some fun activities, then. She'll be coming down for a week, later in July, too, but she'll be working from home, so we'd have only the evenings to do things.

  3. I had a domestic type Wednesday. I finally dragged out the vacuum cleaner to clean the downstairs rooms, straightening and tidying as I went. I even did some mending (hand stitching) while I watched Netflix last night. I noticed you relaxed before dinner last night with some knitting. What are you making?

    1. Sounds like you were very productive! I need to vacuum, too! Thanks for the reminder! :D I began a new sweater! No, I haven't finished the last one I started, but the new yarn was sitting there and calling my name! At least, that's my excuse and I am sticking with it! :D

  5. I had a clear mammogram result a couple of weeks ago. I can't say I gave it too much thought beforehand so the relief I felt when all was OK surprised me. I hope your results come back quickly to put your mind at rest.

Lovely that your DD will be coming home for Thanksgiving, that's definitely something to look forward to and the possible added bonus of a visit or two in between is nice even if one of the visits will be to look after you again.

    Have a lovely weekend. xx

    1. I'm glad your mammogram results were clear and good, Suzanne. I hope they continue to be so. Thank you; I shall find out by the end of next week, I think.

Always happy to have my daughter home, although it means I have more dishes to wash! :D

  6. I can understand just what it feels like to have so many appointments to schedule and reschedule all the time. The last few months have included more for me than I am used to. It didn't help when I broke a tooth which created 3 appointments on top of the others - consultation, crown preparation and next month the permanent crown installation. I was so thankful though, to discover that I had already had a root canal on that tooth. Well, this week in addition to the crown prep. I also saw a specialist for a medical followup and after that appointment, I had an MRI scheduled for the same day. What a weird experience that was! I never knew so much banging and knocking, and I was glad of the earplugs!

Last weekend was fun. I spent a few days with DS and family. DGD had her birthday on Friday, party on Saturday and horse show on Sunday. DH flew home on Saturday in time for the end of the party, and we both went home after the horse show.

I'm so glad your daughter is able to make regular visits. Like you I value family time, and also friendships.

    1. Sounds like you've been very busy, Bushlady. Sorry about the tooth, but, glad you didn't have to do a root canal, as well! You've reminded me that I still need to make a dental appointment for my own crown fittings! I hope the MRI results are good. I had one done, shortly after I blacked out and fell.

Your granddaughter's birthday weekend sounds lovely! Hope she enjoyed it.

Thank you; time spent with daughter is special, especially since we can no longer take the future for granted. Have to make the most of the here and now.
