Rainy Thursday

Soggy Garden!

It rained, last night, a rather slow, gentle rain.  But it poured this morning!  I know those of my readers who live in parts of the world and country where you get more rain are probably very amused by me going on about the rain, but it hasn't rained a lot in the past six years, so we get a bit excited when water falls from the sky!  It stopped raining, late morning, but it remained very cloudy, and our  high was only 54F.  That's cold for us.  I had the heater on and was warm and cozy.

I was glad I could work from home, today.  I got quite a bit of office work done.

Brunch was two of the leftover pancakes with the last of the dhal curry and some of the sambol my friend had given me.  I had a cup of hot chocolate around 3:30 p.m. as I wanted a warm drink.  I am toasting half a bagel to have as a tea time snack, although I don't think I'll have a cup of tea (since I had the hot chocolate, earlier).  I haven't decided on dinner, yet.  I have leftover corned beef and zucchini, if I want to cook some rice or potatoes to go with it.  Or, I might make an omelette...that sounds good, too.

I haven't done anything on my to do list for today except for the office work!  I guess I had better get busy this evening!

Today, I am grateful for:

- More rain for the garden.
- Being able to work from home today.
- Not having to go out and about or drive in the rain.
- A working heater to keep me warm.
- A non-leaky roof to keep me dry.

How was your day?  Are you looking forward to the weekend?

  1. You need the rain so badly, it's great that you're getting so much of it... without getting flooded!

My day was good although it started with small challenges that left me a little frazzled as I wasn't completely awake yet, but it calmed down afterwards and it was a gorgeous day. I managed to do some of the chores I had assigned myself, and did well on my diet, water intake and exercise so I'm calling this a success!

Tomorrow I'll be having lunch with a friend, the one who mentioned that she wanted me to work for her for a few hours a month, so we'll see what pans out. It'll be nice to see her again regardless, the last time I saw her was... in October, I think. So I'll need to try to accomplish my chores in the morning. At some point I'd like to read a book but lately I've been too busy! I hope you have an enjoyable Friday, Bless ;)

    1. Glad you had a good day, after things calmed down a bit. You are doing great with the diet, exercise, and water intake! I'm doing OK with the diet and the water, but not the exercising!

Hope you have a nice lunch out with your friend. Nice to hear that you are feeling more like socializing, again. :) Maybe you'll be able to read your book in the evening, after you come home.

I'm going to do my best to not fall, tomorrow, it being Friday the 13th, and everything! :D

    1. Thank you, Judy. We have some grey clouds and a few scattered showers, but otherwise, it is a nice day, with even a little sunshine, here and there. Hope you have a lovely Friday and weekend ahead of you.

  4. I live so far away but even I know about the drought in California. I know how severe it's been and all the hard work the state has had to do to conserve water. Besides, I'm a Brit. I love hearing about the weather. It looks like the rain has made a real difference to your garden. x

    1. The rain has been very kind to my garden. :) Other areas of the state have not had it as well - floods and hill slides, etc. That's what happens when we get too much rain too quickly!
