Quiet Sunday

Daughter was woken up around 4:00 a.m. this morning when the cat spat up a furball on her bed!  The sounds of her cleaning it up woke me, but I went right back to sleep and slept till quite late.  I didn't wake up until my neighbor phoned me for our regular Sunday morning chat.

The first thing I did after I had my morning cup of tea was wash daughter's bedding, including the mattress cover.  Fortunately, the mattress cover had done its job and had protected the mattress!   Later, I finally unpacked my bags from the trip to Berkeley, did another load of laundry, and ran the dishwasher.

One of my friends called around noon and we had a nice chat.

I had a banana and a raisin bun for breakfast.  I cooked the remaining two hamburger patties from the gift of meats my supervisor had sent me for our lunch.  Daughter had a frozen pot pie for dinner, but I had the last raisin bun because I was feeling a bit nauseated in the evening.

In the afternoon, daughter worked on a craft project while I took a nap!  I've been taking it easy in the evening, because I've felt nauseated.  The house is a bit of a mess, but apart from the laundry and the dishes, I haven't done anything.  I really need to vacuum, tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:

- A quiet Sunday.
- Phone calls from my neighbor and my friend.
- Afternoon naps.
- Washing machines and dishwashers.
- Frozen meals and microwave ovens.

Did you have a good weekend?

  1. Ugh, furballs! Those things are so gross, they look like turds. I can't imagine having to hack that out though, can you?! Poor kitties. I'm glad mankind invented the razor, lol.

Dishwashers and washing machines are also other wondrous inventions. I can't imagine being a housekeeper back in the days. Well, I can and it's making me shiver. We are so spoiled nowadays, aren't we?! But also we don't usually have gaggles of kids to help us (and drive us nuts. Oh, wait... we raised 6 of them. Never mind! They weren't much help though but that's my fault.)

Sorry about your nausea, Bless. Does sucking on ginger candy help at all? Ginger ale?

I hope you have a wonderful, nausea-free day today, Bless!

    1. Thank you, Nathalie. I find that sipping Pepsi helps. If the nausea gets bad enough, I have anti-nausea medications I can take. I just hate taking them (yet another pill to take!)

  2. Purina One Hairball Formula (dry) will completely prevent that.
    My cat loves it.

    1. Thanks, Marylynn. I shall ask daughter to get a bag of it. He sheds a lot as we get closer to summer and it heats up.

  3. In my younger days when we had two cats, I used to do a good imitation of the sound of a cat hacking up a hairball. Oh well, some of us have limited talents!
