September 11

Plumbago Flowers

I can't believe that 24 years have passed since the attacks on 9/11.  One of my cousins worked in the first building to be struck; he managed to get out of the building before it collapsed.

I had my dermatologist appointment in the early afternoon.  I was asked to come in 20 minutes prior to the appointment to fill out the new patients "paperwork" which was done on a handheld devise.  I hate having to sign my name with my finger on those touchscreens.  I guess I was taking too long to complete the forms, because one of the staff members asked if I needed help and when I said, "Yes, please", she assisted me.   It did make me feel less incompetent when even she struggled with filling in some of the information on my behalf.

But, I was seen by a Physician's Assistant as soon as the forms were completed.  A very pleasant young woman. who examined me.  She took pictures of my rash (with my permission) and consulted with the doctor and prescribed two creams and a special shampoo and another ointment to be applied.  I am to return for a follow up visit in two months and the appointment was made before I left the clinic.

I stopped on my way home to pick up some Chinese food from one of my favorite Chinese fast food places.  Daughter and I had some of it for our lunch and for our dinner, too.  And there are leftovers for Friday, as well.

I spent a relaxed evening, watching news and some online videos.  Later, daughter and I did some Sudoku puzzles together.

On Thursday, I was grateful for:

- Access to medical services
- Health insurance
- The availability of prescription medications
- A safe drive to and from the clinic and free parking
- Pleasant and helpful staff at the clinic

Thursday's joyful activity was doing Sudoku puzzles with daughter.

Plans for Friday include some housework and laundry.  And tending to the garden with M.

How was your Thursday?  What are your plans for Friday?
