Monthly Photo Challenge: May - Circles/Circular

Eileen at A Bracelet of Days set the theme for May as "Circles/Circular".   Here are the photos I took for this month's challenge:

Canning Jar Rings

Embroidery Hoop

Stitch Design Dial on the Sewing Machine

Circles of Decorations on a Metal Coaster

Toothbrush Holder

Metal Bobbins

Planting Circle

Circular Planters

Circular Garden Chair Seat

Circular Frame

Wheel

And finally,

Target (Company Logo)

It was fun to look for circles to photograph.  I'm looking forward to seeing what the June theme will be.

  1. That's a great assortment of pictures, but I think I like the bobbins best. :)

  3. Lots of different round things here. What fun.
I love that little coaster with the elephant and I'm wondering how I've never seen it before.
Lots of sewing goodies with the bobbins and embroidery hoop.
My favorite is the stitching dial on your machine. And your thinking of it to use. ;)

Speaking of embroidery hoops. I have a perennial geranium that has grown gracefully with abandon throughout my yard. I must've transplanted hundreds of miles of it over the years - yes I am exaggerating for effect because it seems like 100's of miles.
Anyway it is now starting to overtake some areas where I have daffodils. I pull it up and away from the daffodils but by fall, with the daffodils foliage gone I no longer have a reference point.
Soooo - I picked up some old medal embroidery hoops at the thrift store. Nice and old and a bit rusty and I slide them over the daffodil so now I have a marker of an area to keep the geraniums pulled off of so in the spring the daffodils can see the sun.
This geranium is referred to as big root geranium. The roots stay close to the surface making the plant very easy to pull up and control.

    1. Thank you, Debra. The coaster is one of a set that we brought from Sri Lanka. I've been using this one on the coffee table for the past several weeks.
What a good idea to use the embroidery hoops to mark the areas with the daffodils! I do like the sound of your geranium. I looked it up and it says it is a ground cover and has a very low water requirement. But, it is hardy only up to zone 8, and we are in zone 10.

  4. Great selection, but I was waiting for a photo of Dancer arranging himself in a circle! 😻

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I have not asked Dancer to pose for any photo challenges since they restarted. If there is one for June, I will try to get him involved. :)

  6. I love these! My faves are the ones which incorporate circles within the main subject - the bobbins and the toothbrush holder (which I thought was a button!) The garden chair would have worked for noughts and crosses. Laurie and I are still spotting those from time to time. I think we're programmed for life!

    1. Thank you, Lady Ella. Now that you've mentioned noughts and crosses, I've already spotted two additional items that would qualify! Maybe we should do a noughts and crosses challenge, ourselves!

    1. Thank you, Sharon. You had a busy month in May and other things to do. Why not join in on the June photo challenge? The theme is "Fruit" and the rules are a minimum of 5 photos, no upper limit, and all the photos must be taken during the month.
