That brings us to this week - May Week 5.  I still have some leftovers in the fridge to be finished up!

Here's the meal plan for this last week in May:

Brunches:  Fresh fruit; Leftover Roti and chicken curry; cereal and milk; scrambled eggs or omelet;  leftover waffles with blueberry compote; salad; leftover fried rice

Dinners: Leftover Sukiyaki; Fried rice; Rice and shrimp curry with broccoli and cucumber salad; Hamburger, baked potato wedges, and salad;  Sauteed chicken with green beans and carrots; Leftovers

Snacks/Desserts:  Fresh fruit; yogurt and fruit; granola bars; crackers and peanut butter

Those are my meal plan options for this week, based on what I have in the fridge, freezer, and pantry.  I am going to try and keep to the plan, but, there's always a chance that I might decide to have something different!

Are you making a meal plan for the last week in May?

Trying out some different meals sounds like a plan to me! :)

  2. Those sound amazing meals and you make great use of leftovers. It's like doing the work once and eating twice.

    1. Thank you, Lyssa. I like leftovers and I purposely cook enough for at least a couple of meals when I make something for dinner. :)

  3. As usual, no meal plan here except to use up the spinach and radishes from the garden.

  4. Coming home to an empty fridge after two weeks away, I hastened to the store! Our neighbours will bring over my order of eggs this afternoon. I'm set for a few days, we had pork chops yesterday and after being used to hotel buffet breakfasts, I decided to make sardines on toast this morning. We had been eating large breakfasts, walking miles sightseeing and then having a large meal later. Two meals seemed to work well. Now it is back to something more modest on a 3 meal scale. There are chicken breasts in the fridge to be cooked, and some frozen shrimp in the freezer and salad ingredients in the fridge.

    1. Welcome home, Bushlady. An empty fridge can be a bit daunting. I'm glad you were able to go to the store and get things you needed for at least a few days. Sardines on toast is a favorite item at our house, too.

  5. I love having leftovers but TheHub doesn't. Of course he is not the one cooking and doesn't see the advantage to cook once eat twice.
My meal plans for the little while is to use the foods I have stored either in thew freezer or pantry.

    1. I'm sorry your husband doesn't like leftovers. I guess you will have to continue doing what you already do - cook what can be cooked ahead and frozen and then, use those items to put together different meals. Have fun using up what you have stored. Maybe you can do a pantry challenge in June. :)

  6. As always a nice variety of food offered up at Chez Bless.
Leftovers are a gift we give ourselves in my book.
My husband and I are both keen on them. Part of that is because we treat it like a game not to waste food and the other part is I like not cooking from the beginning everyday. lol

    1. Thank you, Debra. It works well when both spouses are okay with leftovers. Certainly helps the one who does the majority of the cooking, I would say. :)
