Aeonium Flower Stalk |
Some of the aeonium plants in the front garden are starting to send up flower stalks and the bees are loving it.
Wednesday was a mild day with the daytime high of 72F. It felt cool in the shade and hot in the sunshine.
I had another appointment for further lab tests for my upcoming appointment with my primary care doctor. Unlike Monday, when the waiting room was quite full, there were only about 3 or 4 others in the waiting room and I was called in after a very short wait.
Once I returned home, I did a load of laundry and hung up everything to dry. I had been fasting for the blood tests, so, after I came home, I had a bread roll with cheese and drank one of the cans of coconut water I had bought.
Gardener friend M was here in the early afternoon. He had bought a bag of fertilizer for me (I reimbursed him) and he fertilized and watered the fruit trees for me.
After M left, I dusted and vacuumed, made up my daughter's bed with fresh sheets and quilts, and cooked some rice, dhal (lentils) and broccoli for dinner.
Later in the evening, I drove to the airport to pick up daughter. It is lovely to see her again. She will work from home on Thursday, attend her friend's graduation on Friday, spend the weekend at home with me, and fly back up to the Bay Area on Monday evening, after work. Her foot is much improved although she is still wearing a supportive brace.
On Wednesday, I was grateful for:
- Daughter had a safe flight home
- M tending to the garden for me and picking up the fertilizer, etc.
- Access to medical care and lab tests
- Safe driving
- Getting my housecleaning done and completing my To Do List for the day
My joyful activity was picking up daughter from the airport and bringing her home.
On the To Do List for Thursday:
- Put away the laundry
- Made a graduation card
- More paperwork and filing
- Cooking a chicken curry
How was your Wednesday? What are your plans for Thursday?
So happy to hear that your daughter is home for a visit and that her food is doing better.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. She'll do more physical therapy once she returns to the Bay Area.
DeleteHow wonderful that your daughter came to visit! So glad to see that her foot has improved, and I hope she can go without the brace soon. It sure has been a long haul for her!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. Yes, it certainly has been a long haul for her. Her podiatrist has said it could take up to a year for her foot to heal and all she did to hurt her foot was step down from a gymnastics mat that was about 4 inches off the floor!
DeleteBeautiful photo. I love your list of things to be grateful 🙏 for.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. :)
DeleteYour biggest and best joy is time with your daughter. We are going to see our Portland crew in about a month and are really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Anne. Time spent with my daughter is joyful and precious. How lovely that you will be seeing your Portland family in about a month. A certain little girl will be looking forward to your visit, I'm sure. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules; it is lovely to have her home again. :)
DeleteI hope your daughter will soon be able to walk without the brace. Enjoy your time with her.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. She walked a bit around the house without her brace, yesterday, but, by the end of the day, her foot was swollen and a little painful she said. The podiatrist had told her to push through the pain a little bit, but, not overdo it.
DeleteI'm hoping to see the aeonium flower again, once it is in bloom!
ReplyDeleteI shall remember to do so, Lady Ella. :)
DeleteI'm glad your daughter's foot is doing a bit better! I hope you enjoy your visit with her. I bet it was nice to have her home again!
