Pink Rose |
On Saturday, we finally had some sunshine and warmer temperatures, with a high of 73F. I sat outside to warm up because the house was still chilly. And, of course, I walked around the garden and took a few pictures of the garden and admired the roses.
Later, I did a load of laundry (some of the knitted and crocheted blankets) and put away some laundry that I had done earlier, including a couple of quilts.
I also continued with cleaning the family room, tidying, dusting, vacuuming, and doing a bit of furniture rearranging. I found a few things to declutter, too, and sorted through some paperwork, as well. I still have a few last little bits and pieces to put away, including some files and another basket of clean laundry, but, the room is mostly done.
On Saturday, I was grateful for:
- A sunny and warmer day
- Working appliances
- Time spent in the garden
- Phone calls and texts with family and friends
- What I was able to accomplish
Saturday's joyful activity was spending time in the garden
I am planning to have a quiet, relaxed day on Sunday. My late friend A's daughter called and invited me to Easter lunch with her family and a few of their friends, but, I declined the invitation. I did appreciate the invitation, though.
I wish my blog friends a blessed day on Sunday, whether you are observing Easter, Passover, or, like me, a day of rest and relaxation.
You have such lovely roses! The past few days I've been tidying the garden, getting ready for planting. But I am spending today in by the fire, it's turned cold again and raining. I hope today has been relaxing for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. This year, the roses have been flowering really well. Sounds like you got a lot done in your garden; what are you planning to plant? Sorry it has turned cold, but, the rain will help the garden while you warm up by the fire. I have had a lovely day, thank you.
DeleteHappy Easter, Bless! That rose is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you, too, Stephenie. Thank you!
DeleteA high of 73 sounds perfect. We were just a little cooler than that, but it was nice that our guests could go outside to eat.
ReplyDeleteTemperatures in the 70s feels quite comfortable, especially when it is sunny. I'm glad your weather was nice and your guests could go outside to eat.
DeleteGlad you got to spend some time enjoying the garden.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how it takes the house so long to warm up? It was quite mild here today, but I still felt quite chilly inside and sat with my blanket on!
Thank you, Sharon; time spent in the garden is lovely. It is funny how long it takes for the house to warm up. I open a couple of windows and the front door to create a bit of a draft to encourage the warmer outside air to flow in and that helps.
DeleteThat's good you got your family room done and stayed on your schedule.
ReplyDeleteWhat room did you work on next?
Thank you, Debra. Well, that's the problem; I didn't work on any room after that! Oh, I tidied a bit here and dusted a bit there, but, I took it easy the next week and now, the kitchen is a mess again! :D But, this week's "area of the week" is the family room, again. I want to dust the bookshelves and maybe declutter them a bit more and I want to sort through and organize the sideboard where I keep the gift wrapping and other stuff. I know I have one empty shelf in there that can be better utilized to store some of my empty canning jars.
