Time Change on Sunday

This is a photo my daughter took when she was at the Getty Museum with her friends, last weekend.  It is of a chandelier designed and made (around 1818-1819) by Gerard Jean Galle.  It was, apparently, inspired by a hot air balloon.  The blue globe has gold stars all over it and the gilt-bronze band going around it has the twelve signs of the zodiac.  The glass bowl at the bottom has been fitted with a plug and, apparently, it could hold water and small goldfish!

The photo has nothing to do with my day, today, but, I didn't take any photos to share, today.

We changed our clocks to daylight savings time, today.  I do like there being more light in the evenings.  But, now, my sleep schedules are even more off than before.

I woke up with a bit of a sinus pressure headache, today, but, that eased off during the course of the day.  I made it a point to drink my eight cups of water, checked my blood pressure, and took the medications.  I continued to take it easy, today, but, I changed my bed sheets and did a load of laundry.  Changing the sheets and washing them is usually scheduled for Mondays, but, I did it, today, partly to feel like I did something and partly because I am planning to run a few errands, tomorrow (errands are usually scheduled for Tuesdays, but, it is supposed to rain on Tuesday).   I am hoping I can get back on schedule, tomorrow, with the cleaning and so forth.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Starting to feel better, again
- Longer hours of daylight
- Phone calls from daughter and friends
- A restful weekend
- Video chatting with my daughter

Today's joyful activity was chatting with my daughter.

Monday's To Do List:
- Dust living room & dining area
- Clean the fridge
- Take trash cans to the curb for Tuesday trash pick up
- Post office (to mail bill payment)
- Library (to return book)
- Pet store to buy more kitty litter

  1. Sorry to hear you've had another poorly day. Hope you can get on top of it soon.

    Our clocks don't change until the end of the month. This is the one where we lose an hour but it doesn't really make much difference now I'm retired.

    I have another busy day tomorrow so will get back to cleaning and decluttering on Wednesday.

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I feel back to normal, today (keeping fingers crossed that it continues to be so!). I need to make it a point to drink enough fluids and keep hydrated.

      You are right, the time change doesn't make that much of a difference because we are retired, but, now, it's later than ever when I fall asleep and wake up! Oh, well; I'll adjust soon, I'm sure. :)

      I hope you are having a good day and the cleaning can wait. All I am planning to do is a little dusting, myself.

    1. I think we, too, used to change the clocks later in the month, but, they brought it forwards. It really is nice to have longer hours of daylight. :)

    1. Oh, wow, I wonder why? I don't think I am doing anything that could be considered dangerous, do you? Thank you for letting me know, although I am not sure what I can do about it! :)

  4. I hope you are recovered now and no more headaches.

    One thing I find helpful when the clocks must be put forward is to make the change around 9 pm the previous evening. Then suddenly it is 10 pm and time to think more about getting ready for bed. I don't put them back the night before in the fall, as I would then stay up late and maybe lose out on sleep anyway!

    1. I am feeling back to normal, now, Bushlady, thank you. Trying to make sure I drink enough water! That's a very good tip about changing the clocks a bit earlier in the evening! I must try to remember that, next time. I usually wait until Sunday morning to change the clocks and the whole day feels a bit off schedule!

  5. Chandeliers with goldfish bowls in the bottom. How extraordinary! Imagine having to clean that.

    Yes, I am loving the longer hours of sunlight running into the evenings, but I've noticed my dinner time and bedtime is usually running later as well.

      Yes, the longer daylight tricks us into believing the day is longer than it is!
