Getting Back on Schedule on Monday

Ha, ha, I wrote this late last night and must have been more tired than I thought because I forgot to publish it!

I woke up feeling more like my usual self, this morning.  I checked my pressure and took my morning medications, had a cup of tea, dusted the living room and dining area, and planned my day.  There was a text from the pharmacy saying one of my medications was ready for pick up and I knew that I would want to go to the dollar store next door to the pharmacy, as well.

In the afternoon, I did my errands.

I went to the pet store, first, to buy the kitty litter.  A new, pre-filled 30-lb. bucket of clumping kitty litter costs $12.99; but, if you refill the bucket, it is $9.99 per refill.  I have two refillable buckets and I refilled them both.  We are set for kitty litter for several weeks, if not a couple of months.  The last time I bought kitty litter was on December 3, 2019 and I still had about 1/4 of one bucket, left.  But, I emptied that out into another container and bought two refills today.  I want to be stocked up in case of an emergency (such as a major earthquake; if an earthquake disrupts sewer service and one can't flush the toilet, one can use a trash can liner to line either the toilet or any other suitable container and use kitty litter to cover and help deodorize human waste until it can be disposed of properly).

Then, I went to the post office to mail my bill payment and to the library to return a book.

After that, I went to the pharmacy.  One refill was ready, but, I was told that they could have a different refill ready if I could wait 15 minutes or so.  Otherwise, they will text me it will be ready and I can pick it up, later.  I thought I will do my shopping at the dollar store and then come back to pick up the second refill, as well.

So, on to the dollar store to buy bananas (@ $.49/lb; I bought three bananas because I don't like them when they get too ripe), a loaf of multi grain bread, two boxes of lime flavored gelatin, a frozen pizza, two cans of sliced peaches in light syrup, a 1 lb. bag of turbinado sugar, a packet of tea biscuits, a box of microwave popcorn, a bag of potato chips, and a packet of Spanish rice mix.  I also bought a 4-can pack of lemon lime soda.  Plus a few household items - two pairs of rubber gloves (to wear when washing dishes, cleaning the litter box, etc.), two packets of disposable rubber gloves, a box of parchment paper, two bottles of hydrogen peroxide, and a packet of cotton swabs.  My total came to $22.07 with tax.

Then, I went back to the pharmacy and picked up my medication refills.

Came home and baked the pizza and had some of it for a very late lunch!  I watched the evening news and had a cup of tea, then, practiced the piano.  I also cleaned out the fridge, did a load of dishes, and cleaned part of the stove (under the burners).  Later in the evening, I chatted with friend R and video chatted with my daughter.

By the way, if anyone is following the weekly cleaning cycles, we start on the bathrooms and front porch, this week.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Feeling better
- A productive day
- Good weather
- Being able to run errands and stock up as needed
- Video chatting with my daughter

  1. I'm having a quiet night (Tuesday), just watching TV. I had a busy day (which is on my blog tomorrow) and am feeling rather tired.

I'm completely behind on the cleaning but luckily the bathrooms were deep cleaned recently so I'm not stressing about it. If I do summon up the energy to do some housework I will carry on with the dining room and the decluttering.

    1. Glad to hear that you are having a quiet, restful night after a busy and tiring day, Eileen. I'm glad that you are not stressing about the cleaning - you'll get to it when you can or have to. If not this time around, then, the next time the room comes around. :)

  2. Great Monday! Started with my six month medical visit and everything was A-okay, which was a great start to the week. Came home and made waffles and then to the Y for water aerobics for seniors and lap swimming. The evening was blogging and catching up with my blog buddies.

  3. You were busy.

My Monday was busy as usual, because it’s my longest day at work. I like that it was still daylight when I came home, thanks to daylight saving. 😊

    1. Thanks. It feels good to come home when there is still daylight, doesn't it?

  4. A very productive day indeed! I like that you can get to so many places in a single trip. Running errands is one of my least favourite chores, but you sound very organised. It sounds like you are doing very well with your emergency preparations, which reminds me that I should also be looking again at mine. My emergency prep list needs to be reviewed now that I have moved.

    1. Thank you. I do try to fit in as many errands as I comfortably can in one trip. I am limited by how quickly I seem to tire, still, but, I can be out and about for about 2 1/2 hours without getting tired. It's a good idea to review our emergency prep. stuff on a regular basis. :)

  5. As far as the cleaning schedule goes, the master bathroom is half and half as DH has been touching up some paint, regrouting etc. and the rest of the cleaning is half done. I did the powder room today. As for the porch, it's overrun with squirrels and one insists on eating a peanut right on the rubber mat in front of the door, so I have to shake it out to get rid of the shells.
I'm still working on the kitchen and I am waiting for a mild day when I can open the windows and use the self cleaning oven. Only the bottom shelf of the pantry remains to be cleaned and that has a large closed bin with things like candy molds, thermometers and goodness knows what else. It's easy to pull out and look through but I would like to get down and wipe out the shelf itself. Time for the little stool to sit on!

    1. Sounds like you are well on schedule, with the cleaning, Bushlady. How nice that your DH is able to do all that work in the bathroom! I thought of you and your maple syrup, today, when I bought a bottle of generic pancake syrup! :) I am a bit behind on the cleaning - I did more stocking up type of shopping today and it wore me out!

I need to read on and see what else you've been up to.

    1. Monday was good, but, after that, my productivity dropped! Hope you are keeping well in the middle of all this worrying over the virus!

  7. I am. I hope you are too, Bless.
I'm a homebody so I don't mind the restrictions on going places although I know many do.
I think I am stocked up pretty well on the things I eat & use regularly.
But I guess you never really know. We will all just have to do what we can and pray for the best outcome possible given the situation.

    1. I think I am as stocked up as I am going to be; I belong to that category of people at risk due to pre-existing medical conditions and am trying to stay home as much as possible. I don't mind staying home, at all. I do wish my daughter could be home with me, but, that is not to be.
