Taking it Easy on Saturday

I felt better, today, but, I continued to take it easy.  I think what happened is, I got dehydrated and that caused my blood pressure to go down too much.  I've been drinking more water and checking my blood pressure regularly.  The doctor has told me to skip the medications if the pressure is below a certain level, so I didn't take any yesterday or, so far, today.  I will check the pressure, again, before I go to sleep and see if I need to take my night time pill.

I did two loads of laundry, today, tidied the family room a little bit, watered the indoor plants, and practiced the piano.  In the afternoon, I tried to take a nap on the sofa, but, I didn't fall asleep, as such, although, I might have dozed off a bit.  Later, I watched news, chatted with my daughter, and spoke with friend R.

Today, I am grateful for:
- A quiet, relaxed day
- Fresh oranges
- Working appliances
- Electricity
- Phone chats

Plans for tomorrow include doing some paperwork and deciding on the next crafts project!

How is your weekend coming along?

A new craft project sounds exciting and I should really think of one myself. X

  3. So glad to hear you are feeling better and taking it easy is probably the best thing for you until you feel 100%. How many works in progress do you have to finish off?

I'm having an easy day today (Sunday). It's one of those days where I can't seem to get going!

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I have at least one knitting project and a couple of quilts to finish. I should also make one baby quilt for my cousin's granddaughter. My cousin is planning to visit us next month (she lives in Australia), and I could send the quilt through her to her granddaughter.

I'm glad to hear that you, too, are having an easy day, today. Sundays should be a day of rest!

  4. You and I, both, need to drink more regularly. Drinking often makes me feel too full, so I tend not to do it enough. However, there are ways I could get around some of that like having the big drink every morning first thing. What do you do to make sure you are drinking enough?

    1. I have started writing down how many cups of water I've drunk! It seems to be the only way I can make sure I drink my 8 cups of water! Yesterday, I cut up an orange and added it to my glass of water to flavor the water. That seems to help.

  5. Take care of that blood pressure. Dehydration is dangerous. We have had nice weather so far this weekend. Sunny skies. Enjoy this day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. Sorry to hear that you didn't feel well, Bless, and glad to know that today is a better one. I really like the rag rug. I'm sure your daughter will too.
I know how you feel about being grateful for electricity - we were without it, and only downstairs, for a couple of days but it certainly makes one grateful when it's back on!

    1. Thank you, Eloise.

We tend to take electricity for granted, don't we? But, without it, our modern life can grind to a halt!

  8. Isn't it annoying when you try to take a nap and it doesn't work?

The weather is mild and sunny today, Sunday, and the threatened snow days are now listed as rain on Monday and Tuesday so that is a relief. The squirrels forgot to put their clocks forward, so when we got up, they were not waiting on the porch for their peanuts!

    1. Yes; even my usual trick of reading for awhile didn't help with the nap, yesterday. But, I lay there and rested, so that was good.

I'm glad you are having a sunny day, today, and the forecast calls for rain instead of snow. We, too, have some rain in the forecast for the week. Too funny the squirrels weren't waiting for their peanuts! Did they show up, later?

  9. The highlight of my weekend is that my adult sons went to church with me. I love them to experience the joy of Jesus' love. Happy times. I did a blog post today, and like your day of resting, doing some laundry and relaxing.

  11. My dad had to go to the hospital once for dehydration. It is so important to drink plenty of water. I hope you feel better.

    1. Yes, I once fainted and fell in the bathroom (hitting my head on the edge of the shower door track) due to being dehydrated! I still have a dent in my forehead from that! I really need to make it a point to drink enough water. I'm feeling better, today, thank you. :)

  12. It's too bad that it took a few days of feeling unwell for you to realise that you were not looking after yourself as much as you should. I am glad to hear that you are resting more, checking your blood pressure, and making sure to keep hydrated. I know it can sometimes be difficult to keep track while you are in the midst of a busy day.
