Resting on Sunday

After going to sleep at almost 4:00 a.m., last night, I slept till about 11:30 a.m., this morning!  I woke up once, at 6:30 a.m., which was ridiculous; I went to the bathroom and then, went back to bed!  I half expected my neighbor to call at 11:00 a.m., for our usual Sunday morning chat, but she didn't call me till 1:30 p.m., because she said she had woken up with a headache and had gone back to bed and slept in, herself.

After I woke up, I had a cup of coffee, replied to blog comments, and started uploading pictures from yesterday.   That took some time because they weren't uploading for the longest time.  That has happened a couple of times, before, so I knew I just had to wait; after a couple of hours, they all uploaded.  Then, I started writing a long blog post about yesterday's events!  That took me all afternoon, practically, because I felt I needed to explain some things in detail!

In between, I spoke with daughter and my neighbor T, ate some leftover sandwiches I had brought home from the bridal shower for brunch, went on Facebook, did a load of laundry, handwashed the sari I wore yesterday, because I spilled curry gravy on it, had a cup of tea with some of the "short eats" I had brought home, and, generally, relaxed!  Later in the evening, I put water to the front garden (with the garden hose) and the back garden (the sprinklers).

Today, I am grateful for:
- Being able to get over 7 hours of sleep
- Being able to take it easy and have a relaxed day
- A sunny, warm day
- Making a dent in the laundry pile
- Knowing I have a day off from work, tomorrow!

Having the day off tomorrow enabled me to relax, today, and rest from yesterday's activities, knowing I have tomorrow in which to run errands.  Tomorrow, I want to go grocery shopping and, maybe, do some meal prep for the week.

Monday's To Do List:
- Grocery shop
- Clean the fridge
- Meal prep
- Empty waste baskets/take out recycling
- Take the trash cans to the curb
- Put away the dried laundry
- Iron the sari I washed today
- Do another load of laundry and hang to dry
- Tidy the family room

How was your Sunday?  Was it a day of rest for you?

  1. It took a whole day to recuperate from the day's events yesterday. Thank goodness you were able to sleep most of the morning. I believe you when you say it took all afternoon to write the blog post, which I greatly appreciated. Lots of great pictures and wonderful detail. Good that you were able to enjoy the aftermath of the party with food brought home. No cooking....yay.

    1. Susan, I was grateful that I didn't feel more tired than I did and had a day in which to rest! Even today, I have the day off from work and I am taking it easy, as I still feel a little tired. I might go grocery shopping, later in the afternoon, but I can manage for a few more days with what I have, if I don't go.

    1. Yes, they are, aren't they? I didn't feel it too much on Saturday; I guess the adrenaline kept me going, but being able to rest yesterday was much needed and even today, I am taking it easy!

  3. Yes, Sunday was a day of rest for me. I didn't have anything planned and there were no unexpected visitors so I was able to do a bit of pottering in the garden followed by a leisurely reading session, a soak in the bath and an early night!

Hope you enjoy your day off tomorrow.

  6. I am not surprised that you needed a rest day after such a busy Saturday.
We were at a potluck supper on Sunday with a small group and it was delightful as our host entertained us with his accordion and one guest brought the most exquisite maple syrup butter tarts!
