On Friday

Neptune Roses

Friday was like a summer day with a high of 94F!  I loved it!  It was finally warm enough for me to wear a sleeveless blouse.  LOL.

I got some housework done, changing out the dust sheets on the living room sofas, doing a small load of laundry, washing one of my wool sweaters by hand, vacuuming my bedroom and doing a little paperwork.  Later, when M was here, I tended to the garden with him.  He enjoyed a bowl of my homemade yogurt with some blueberry compote and I gave him a jar of yogurt to take home with him.

I didn't get to cleaning the kitchen, so that's on the list for Saturday.

On Friday, I was grateful for:
- The sunny, warm day
- M's help with the garden
- Water for the garden
- Garden flowers and garden fruit
- Working appliances

Friday's joyful activity was spending time in the garden.

My plans for Saturday (another warm day according to the forecast), include cleaning the kitchen, picking blueberries, and more paperwork.

How was your Friday?  What are your plans for Saturday?

  1. I can almost smell the roses. I'm just about to dish up some frozen strawberry yoghurt now that you've mentioned yoghurt. You set me off fancying some

  2. The roses are so beautiful. Will they bloom all summer?

    1. They are very pretty, aren't they? This is my first year growing this rose (received it as a dormant plant from M last November), but, descriptions of it online says that it will bloom all summer. There are plenty of buds on the plant and we shall see how well it stands up to our summer heat (it's 100F today and it's not yet summer)

  3. Che bello che avete una temperatura di 35 gradi.
Qui fa ancora freschino e soprattutto il tempo è mutevole, passiamo da momenti di caldo ad acquazzoni della durata di 10 minuti ma che sconquassano tutto

How nice that you have a temperature of 35 degrees.
It's still a bit chilly here and above all the weather is changeable, we go from hot moments to showers that last 10 minutes but that shatter everything

I'm loving the heat, Stefania, as we had been rather chilly during the past several weeks. Our temperatures are supposed to go down, again, next week, so, I'm enjoying these few warmer days.
I'm sorry your weather is so changeable, right now. Hope your weather improves in the upcoming weeks.

    1. Yes, you do, Bushlady! The poppies are flowering in clumps all over the garden! I'm letting them grow wherever they want to and am hoping that they will return next year, too.

  5. Friday I finished packing a weekend bag and travelled 100miles to daughter's home. Husband and I are caring for granddaughter, age 10 for the weekend. Spent time in the local pub garden for an hour as it was sunny
Today, Saturday we spent the day visiting my sisters, nieces and brother-in-law who all live near my daughter.

    1. The kitchen got cleaned, eventually. It's never done, though, is it? I'm a messy cook!
The yogurt turned out really well. :)

  7. 94! No thank you. lol
But I know you love it nice and warm so I'm happy for you.
It reached 70 here yesterday. That was the first day the temperature reached into the 70's this year for my area.
That Neptune rose seems like it's a nice strong rose for being newly planted. Last fall, right?

    1. Oh, I was very happy with that temperature. It went up to 73F today. Glad it's warming up a bit for you, although I know you like it on the cooler side.
Yes, the Neptune rose is doing really well. You've a good memory - M gifted it to me in November, last year.
