|Lemons and Roses|
When M pruned the citrus trees on Friday, he cut a few branches with lemons still hanging on them. I picked up one or two of those branches and cut a couple roses to display on the mantel, along with my Easter candy.
Late yesterday evening, around 9:00 p.m., actually, there was a knock on the door and, as I wondered who it could be, a voice called out, "Bless, it's your neighbor". So, I opened the door and it was my neighbor from a couple of doors down (whose dogs bit me, last year!) with some Easter bread she had made! She apologized for the lateness of the hour, explaining she had just finished baking them:

It is a cloudy day, today, and it must have rained, earlier, because the ground was wet when I woke up and opened the drapes. I am planning to take it easy, today, and just relax. Maybe practice the piano. Maybe read. Maybe sew or knit. There's cooked food in the fridge, so I don't need to cook unless I want to.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Kind friends and neighbors
- Gifts of Easter candy and bread
- A relaxed day
- A warm house in which to stay
- The garden in which to walk
