I had a
possible side effect from the injections, last night - I felt so cold, I
just couldn't warm up. Daughter piled all the quilts and blankets on
me and I was still cold. I had on my knitted wool socks on, wool shawl, and even wore one of my knitted hats! Chills
are one of the side effects they said, but this was just feeling cold at
my core. Any way, daughter got me to take 2 Tylenols and I moved to
the living room sofa and finally we both went to sleep (she brought the
mattress from her bed and put it down on the floor), around 3:30 a.m.
I also had an irritation in my left eye - it felt like there was a piece of grit in there, and I washed the eye with baby shampoo and water, but it was still red and scratchy. I was worried about that, as well.
Today, I have felt almost back to normal. Appetite was better, my eye was fine; I even did a load of laundry and wrote a few Christmas cards.
Tomorrow my friend will visit in the afternoon. We might even start decorating for Christmas!
Today, I'm grateful for:
- Feeling so much better!
- Daughter being there to take care of me
How was your day? Is everyone done with your holiday preparations? Or are you like me, behind with everything?
Many years ago I had severe chills with a very high fever. Did you check your temperature?
ReplyDeleteYes, I did, Marylynn, because the clinic had said to call if I had a fever above a certain grade. I didn't have a fever, but just felt really cold deep inside. But I am feeling fine, now.
DeleteYou're being a good patient!
DeleteThank you. :)
DeleteThe body is an amazing thing, we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" and all kinds of reactions come in response to invasive treatment, but the ability to heal itself is built in. I pray that you are through with the side effects of the recent chemo and can build up your appetite and strength from now on.
ReplyDeleteBushlady
Bushlady, I think I'm on the mend, now. My appetite is back and I have eaten more today than I've eaten practically all of last week! Will definitely start rebuilding my strength for the next round!
DeleteSo sorry you had the bad night..But, I am so happy that you are feeling so much better today. Pray that you get better and better..
ReplyDeleteReally happy daughter was home to be with you and help you last night.. hugs and prayers sent to you from Ms.
Thank you, Judy. Felt much, much better, today. Almost back to normal.
DeleteSending big hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
DeleteGlad you felt better today anyways!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jess.
DeleteSo good that you're feeling better! And your daughter is so wonderful! Great news that the side effects are subsiding. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carolyn. By the way, I showed her pics of your Christmas trees. :)
