I've
had a fairly busy day today. In fact, I might have done a tad too much,
because I felt quite tired in the evening and dozed off a bit in my
chair.
I went for the 3rd immune booster injection in the morning. But first, I had to call the office regarding a document I am working on from home. And I forgot I had to take 2 Tylenols and a Claritin before I went in for the injection! I remembered it after I had driven for about 10 minutes. But, fortunately, I hadn't gone too far or got on the freeway, yet, so, turned around and came back home to take the meds. As a result, I felt a bit rushed to make it to the clinic on time for my appointment (although I made it with several minutes to spare).
While
daughter and I were waiting for the injection, we received a text from the
pharmacy saying my prescription refills were ready for pick up, so,
since we were in downtown already, we drove down to the pharmacy and
picked up the meds. I wore my
mask and there weren't a lot of people about, so I think it was OK. I'm
probably more exposed to germs when I go into the medical building
where the clinic is located.
And
since the pharmacy is located in the same building complex as my office, we went to the office to pick up some work documents. Then, on the way home, I did a drive-by site visit for my current project.
And
since we were close to one of my favorite British-style fish and chips places, and I
had been kind of craving fish and chips earlier, we went there, too! I did not go in. I
stayed in the car while daughter went in and picked up an order of
fish and chips for me and pop corn shrimp for herself for our lunch. Came home and ate some of the fish and chips (there were 3 pieces of fish and I could manage only 1 piece of fish and some of the chips).
After
lunch, I worked on my office-related work until later in the evening and sent a couple of emails with work products attached. But,
by then, I was tired and so, stopped for the day.
Later, daughter made us tea and then, she started to decorate for the holidays. We
haven't brought in any of the items stored in the garage, but I store some fabric items (cushion covers, table cloths, placemats, crocheted throws, etc.) in a suitcase in my closet, so she took those out, hung up the stockings and
put up the Merry Christmas banner. The place looks quite Christmas-y
already. :)
Tomorrow,
I will go for the 4th and last booster injection for this round of chemo
and for my blood test.
- Remembering to take my medications before I got on the freeway, so I could go back home to take them without too much of a hassle.
- A rather productive day
- Fish and chips for lunch
- Daughter taking the initiative to decorate for the holidays
- A warm house on a rather cold (for us) night; not as cold as certain parts of the country and world, but 39F is pretty cold for us.
How was your day? Did you have a busy day, too?
Bless, I am so happy that you thought about your meds before you got there. And made the appointment on time.[Looks like the doctors office would keep it on hand, for these instances??- Maybe you could put a bottle with these in it, in your purse...Just in case you forget again.... I am thinking about my own self..I always forget things.lol]
ReplyDeleteProud you were able to eat the fish/chips..
Praying for you and daughter.. Hugs and Merry Christmas.
Judy, thank you. Yes, last Friday, when I had the injection for the first time, the dr's office did provide the meds, but one has to wait about an hour between taking them and receiving the injection, I was told. So, it would have meant sitting in the waiting room and, well, waiting! ;) Whereas, taking them before leaving the house means they are in effect by the time I get to the clinic (a little over 1 hr. drive). Good idea to carry them with me, though. I usually have all my regular prescription meds in my purse at all times, but these additional new meds have been kept at home. I will have them with me for the next go around. I've so many things to have on me, I think I'll need to switch to a tote bag - not a purse!
DeleteBless, I had to laugh at your tote bag..I told my daughter I wanted a tote bag for Christmas..She ask why? I told her, Her daddy and I have so much meds, my purse won't hold them..And you always have to show them at your doctors appointment. lol
DeleteJudy, I DID switch to a tote bag, for Wednesday's visit to the clinic! Hope you get your tote bag, too!
DeletePopcorn shrimp sound lovely, our local chippy doesn't do those! I'm really glad you are eating, and you are further on with decorating than we are. Prayers continue. x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the continued prayers. The shrimp was very good (I sampled a couple!) and for $3.99 a 1/2 lb. serving, an affordable treat.
DeleteSuch a long drive you have for your treatment! I'm glad you remembered the meds in time to scoot back and take them.
ReplyDeleteTake-out fish and chips, mmmmmmm - we don't have them round here, perhaps in Ottawa though but that's 100 miles away. We can get them served in restaurants, but there is something about taking them home that calls up all kinds of memories of the old country! Glad you enjoyed what you could manage to eat.
Bushlady
Bushlady, in terms of distance in miles, the clinic isn't all that far away (about 20 miles). But factor in the morning "rush hour" traffic when our freeways become clogged to the point we are going 5-10 miles per hour, and the drive takes over an hour. We tend to measure distance by time, here! Q: "How far is it from your home to the clinic?" A: "About an hour". :D
DeleteThat traffic would drive me absolutely insane. Yay for country roads!
ReplyDeleteHappy you remembered your medicine before you were too far gone.
Jess, I think we have some of the worst, most congested roads in the whole country!
