Cherry Guavas (Red) and Pineapple Guavas/Feijoa (Green) |
Today, I didn't have to go to work, so I had planned to wake up early and get things done! However, I was too sleepy when the alarm went off at 6:00 a.m. and I went back to bed and slept until almost 8:00 a.m.! Then, I felt I was behind, all day!
Today's to do list:
- Bake apple bread - DONE
- 11:00 a.m. - Dancer's vet appt., leave at 10:30 a.m. - DONE
- Put away laundry - DONE
- Run dishwasher/handwash other dishes - DONE
- Put away dishes - DONE
- Put gas to the car - DONE
- Grocery shop for bread rolls, milk, lettuce, cantaloupe - DONE
- Take trash cans to curb - DONE
- Water the front garden/sprinkler the back - DONE
In addition, I had a quick chat with a cousin, emailed a friend, and video chatted with daughter; picked the last of the cherry guavas from the tree (gardener pruned the tree on Friday) and the first of the pineapple guava (also known as feijoa).
I completed my to do list for today, so why do I feel I didn't accomplish everything? Because I also wrote down 3 other items I needed to do, sometime this week (pay bills), before the end of this month (renew car registration) and one of these days (write to an aunt)? I accomplished the major things; I should be happy about that!
Do you experience similar feelings of not getting everything done even when you do what you listed for that day? Or am I the only one?
You got a lot accomplished. Some days I feel that way. I think it's just because even getting the immediate things done, I know there's more to go.
ReplyDeleteJess, I think you are right. There's always more to do!
DeleteI feel that same way some days - I think it's because after I've done the items that I absolutely have to do, I hope to get a few extra things done as well. If I don't, I feel that I wasn't as productive. Sounds silly, I know. Maybe we're just too competitive with ourselves? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think we have high expectations of ourselves! We feel we should be able to do it all!
