On Sunday

Dancer

Sunday was another sunny day with a high of 77F (it's 56F now, as I type this).

I did another load of laundry (my bed sheets), paid some bills, did the dishes, and ordered more groceries to be picked up on Monday.

We had leftover hot dogs and the pomegranates I had picked from the tree for brunch.  Dinner was brought over by neighbor S - she was having visitors over to dinner and she called me to let me know that her husband had parked his car in my driveway (I had told her they are welcome to park their cars in my driveway any time they needed to).  Afterwards, she brought us more bacon wrapped hot dogs, hamburgers and fries, cantaloupe, a gelatin dessert, and some Armenian cookies.  She also brought me a candle and gave daughter a memo book.  We visited for a bit and she left after inviting us over for a visit before daughter leaves. We had the hamburgers for dinner and kept the hot dogs for another day.

On Sunday, I am grateful for:

- The sunny, warm day
- Working appliances
- Being able to help neighbor S with additional parking
- Neighbor S bringing us dinner in return
- Being able to order groceries online

Sunday's joyful activity was having neighbor S visit us and bring us dinner.

Plans for Monday include having a visit from friend R, watering the garden, and picking up the groceries I ordered.

How was your Sunday?  What are your plans for Monday?

  1. Dreary dull November weather. You are kind to allow neighbours to park on your driveway. I'm glad they shared their food in return. We have new neighbours at the end of the Close, and next door has finally been sold (my neighbour moved to Scotland 14 months ago} It seems that a family will be moving in before Christmas. That will be good

    1. Sorry your weather is so dreary and dull, Angela.
Neighbor S and family have been wonderful neighbors and friends over the years. I'm happy to let them park in my driveway and appreciate them sharing food with me. I hope your new neighbors will be good.

  2. Dance is in good company. Lucky used to be the one who would rip into a bag of food. The other cats would wait for him to do it, and then they'd all eat it. It made a big mess so we started putting it away in a plastic bin as soon as we got it.

    1. There's nothing Dancer likes better than to rip open a new bag of food! I do have a bin into which I empty the contents, but, I let him eat from the bag for a few days. :)

    1. Yes, it was very kind of my neighbor to bring us dinner. Thank you, Sharon; my daughter says she is enjoying her visit with me. :) She is still walking with her crutches, but, has a phone appointment with her doctor scheduled for Wednesday to find out why her ankle is not healing as soon as initially expected.
