SPSH - Final Link Up

The Summer Photo Scavenger Hunt, hosted by Mary-Lou at Patio Postcards has come to an end.  It was a rather challenging list of prompts, but, I am happy to say that I was able to find a photo for each prompt!

I posted the 1st Link Up, here and an Update earlier this month, but, I've included all the photos, here, in the final link up to make it easier to view all the photos in order.

#5: Something That Looks Like a Number or a Letter - We have choice of H, I, or X:

"H" Formed by the Cross Bars on a Stool

Or...Is It An "I"?
Or, how about this one?

"X" Formed by the Ironing Board Stand

#6: A Corner - The embroidered corner of a table cloth

#6: A Corner - of a table cloth

#7: A Leaf Vein - Sunflower leaf veins

#8: Sipping On - Passionfruit Juice

#9: Changes Shape When Wet:  I was wishing I still had those mini sponges that come in capsules, which expand to dinosaur shaped sponges when wet, but, I had decluttered them, so, I settled on bath bombs and bath salt cubes which will dissolve in water and change shape

#9 A: Bath Bombs

#9 B: Bath Salts Cubes

#10: OMG, The Shoes!  I am afraid that I didn't quite get what was meant by this prompt.  I chose to photograph a pair of shoes that I can't quite bring myself to declutter:

#10: OMG, The Shoes - my daughter's baby shoes

#11: Yellow and Blue Together - This was the photo that made the list for the final link up!

#11 Yellow Sunflower/Blue Sky

#16:  Oh, So Colorful - Batik Wall Hanging

#17: Out of Place - There are so many things that are out of place in my house that I couldn't even tell what was out of place!  But, finally, I settled on this stack of mail on the ironing board:

#17:  Out of Place - Stack of Mail on the Ironing Board!

#18: In The Distance: Smoke from a brush fire in the distance (about 7 miles from my house)

#18: In The Distance - the grey smoke from a small brush fire

#19: Culture, Yours or Another:  I had a hard time selecting just one item!  But, I settled on the ceremonial brass oil lamp: it is usually decorated with strands of jasmine flowers, coconut oil is poured into the pointy trays, with cotton wicks immersed in the oil at each point and the wicks are lit at the beginning of various ceremonies; the bird on the top is the Sri Lankan (Ceylon) junglefowl (Gallus lafayettii) which is endemic to Sri Lanka and is the national bird of Sri Lanka.

  3. I enjoyed seeing your choices, and - there he is again, Mr. Fuzzy Fuzzy in two photos!
I have been taking sunrise photos. The sun rises around 7 am over the Black Sea and it is wonderful to see. At home we don't see the sun rise but we do sometimes see the sun striking the tops of trees before it is high enough to see.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. Yes, he's had to pose quite a bit, this month! :D Your sunrise photos sound lovely! I was watching a documentary, last night, that spoke about how the Black Sea might have formed. :)

  4. Oh nicely done. I had a little giggle over the mail on the ironing board, thinking that was funny then I realized if I leave my ironing board up it seems to attract even odder objects. The brass lamp is a real eye-catcher, as is the pretty blue/white porcelain in the background of that shot.

    1. Thank you, Susanne, I really need to go back to dealing with incoming mail on a daily basis. I slacked off for a couple of weeks and now, there are piles of mail all over the house!

  5. Bless you have done very well with the 2022 SPSH. Thank you for joining in. Oh those baby shoes, no never get rid of those (IMO). The bath bomb for changing shape when wet is brilliant, I would never have thought of that. Of course any photo that has Dancer in it is perfect. :)

  6. I loved these, you've found some great photos. I love the embroidery on the corner of the table cloth ... is that your own work? Good to see that Dancer made an appearance, as well as you and your daughter - the whole family! I think the sunflower is my favourite. x

    1. Thank you, Eileen. No, I didn't do the embroidery; the table covering is a Chinese import that was gifted to my mother by her sister-in-law when we were in Sri Lanka (her SIL was of Chinese ancestry and owned a shop that sold Chinese goods).

  7. Good captures and some creative responses to the prompts. I would never have thought of the bath bomb--that prompt was one of the puzzlers for me. Love the beautiful embroidery, and I, too, am a fan of the sunflower against the bright blue sky!

    1. Thank you, Karen. My first thought for the changes shape when wet was a sugar cube, except, I didn't have any sugar cubes. :)

    1. Thank you, Lady Ella. The oil lamp was last used in July 2018 at my cousin's son's wedding. :) There's a photo of it here:

We couldn't find jasmine flowers to decorate it, so, placed white flowers around the trays and they lit candles instead of oil and wicks, etc. :)

I don't think I could get rid of those little baby shoes either.

    1. Thank you, Debra. I have kept two pairs of the baby shoes - pink and red. Then there's the suitcase full of all her baby clothes that were hand made! She gets to decide what to do with them once I am no longer around!
