|Quality Control Inspection in Progress|
I sewed the additional crumb pieced blocks together, today, and attached them to the quilt top. I spread the quilt top on the bed to see how it looked and the Quality Control Inspector in Chief had to try it out, of course. He complained when I nudged him off so I could pin the border pieces prior to sewing them!
I spent a pleasant day sewing, watching some TV, chatting on the phone with friend R, and video chatting with my daughter.
I cleaned the litter box, walked in the drive way, and started the car. There was a moment of panic when the key remote didn't unlock the car doors and I thought the car battery was dead (it has been over a week since I last started and drove the car!). But, then, I thought I'll try opening the car door with the key and try to start the car and the car started without any problem! The car battery was not dead, but, the battery in the key remote was dead! I let the engine run for a good 20 minutes or so while I walked up and down the driveway. I will call the dealers, tomorrow, to ask about replacing the battery on the remote, but, I don't mind using the key to lock and unlock the doors. I was very happy that the car started!
Brunch was soup, dinner was chicken curry, rice, and the last of the zucchini chutney, and snacks included a slice or two of bara brith with butter at tea time and some crackers with cheese.
Today, I am grateful for:
- The car started!
- Chatting with friend R and my daughter
- Time spent sewing
- Television coverage of world events
- Electricity to run appliances
Today's joyful activity was sewing.
Plans for tomorrow (Monday) include more sewing and a little bit of some necessary housekeeping tasks.
How was your Sunday? What are your plans for Monday?
Love your quality control inspector. Perfect job! I am glad your car battery wasn't dead. The battery in my key is getting bad, too. xo DianaReplyDelete
He does take his job, seriously, Diana. I'm glad the car battery isn't dead - it's relatively new because I put in a new battery at the end of April! I never realized that the battery in the key remote would need to be replaced! Silly me!Delete
Oh, that Dancer! On the job as usual. It's a cat thing! I'm glad you sorted out the key problem and could get into your car and start it.ReplyDelete
We stayed in all yesterday afternoon while the rain came down. It lets up from time to time but it rained at night and is still raining heavily. I'd send you a sample if I knew how! It would certainly soak your gardens! I'm going to make some tomato soup for lunch today as I used part of a large can for a recipe on Saturday and I need to use up the rest or it will sit in its plastic container in the fridge for too long.
Dancer certainly works hard for his tuna! :D I was on the verge of calling the AutoClub to send someone to give me a jump start! I'm glad it occurred to me to try and start the car, anyway!Delete
My daughter said it rained in Berkeley, yesterday. Clear blue skies down here, though.
Tomato soup for lunch sounds good. I have a serving of the chicken and vegetable soup I made last week, left; I might make some tomato soup, after that. :)
It's good to know that Dancer hasn't forgotten his responsibilities and is making sure your work meets the standard 😂ReplyDelete
I've spent today (Monday) watching the Queen's funeral.
Dancer is always on the job! :DDelete
I stayed up all night to watch the funeral, Eileen, and went to bed after 9:00 a.m., our time. I got just under 4 hours of sleep and might go to sleep early, tonight!
It's a good thing you have Dancer there to check the quality of the quilt! Cats are very helpful. I woke up at 3 this morning, and since I couldn't get back to sleep (well, I didn't try very long!) I turned on the TV and watched the funeral. I find the bag pipes and drum march very impressive. I hope you get a good sleep tonight.ReplyDelete
Dancer is such a helpful cat! :DDelete
I stayed up all night watching the funeral. I found it all very interesting. :)
That looks lovely! For some reason your blog disappeared from my Blog List. I'm not sure what's up with that. I have some reading to catch up on!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Sharon. A few other bloggers have mentioned blogs disappearing from their lists, too - I guess a glitch with Blogger. Hope it clears up, soon.Delete
Glad the car started. I have a love/hate relationship with key fobsReplyDelete
Thank you, Anne. This is the first car I've had with a key fob; it took me a few weeks to get used to it, but, then, I found it very convenient!Delete
I think Dancer thoroughly approves of your quilt. I spent all day yesterday watching the Queen's funeral it was beautifully done. I was up early and took Tilly for her walk and made sure I was back in time not to miss anything.ReplyDelete
Dancer loves new quilts! :D The funeral was a day long event, wasn't it? I, too, think it was very well done and I'm very impressed by the amount of planning that must have gone into making sure everything went smoothly. :)Delete
The batteries in two of our key fobs have needed replaced recently. It must be the season. :)ReplyDelete
It must be! At first, I thought the car battery was dead! It took me a few minutes to realize that it was the remote battery that was dead!Delete
Well thank goodness your quality control inspector is keeping a keen eye on things as you proceed with your quilt making.ReplyDelete
He is a good quilt inspector with a specialized technique :)
Your food on Monday sounds very good.
The last of the zucchini chutney? Or the last of the opened jar of zucchini chutney? Surely, there is more.
The quality control inspector takes his job very seriously! :DDelete
Yes, the last jar of zucchini chutney that I have - my daughter took all the rest of it up with her! But, I have peach chutney. :)
