Productive Saturday!

I went to sleep at 2:00 a.m., last night and woke up at 10:00 a.m. this morning, so I got my recommended eight hours of sleep!  It was a bright, sunny day, no May gray anywhere in sight, and hot!  But, not too hot for Dancer to enjoy a nap in the afternoon sunshine:

Cat Naps!
I spent the morning procrastinating, instead of looking for that missing document I couldn't locate on Wednesday.  I know that procrastination is never a good option, but, when I procrastinate, I become very productive, doing other things!

So, I wrote out another Big Long Weekly To Do List.  I did two loads of laundry and hung them up to dry.  I tidied the family room.  I watered the garden.  I did other paperwork and even a bit of filing!  Dancer saw me doing paperwork and came to help; except, doing paperwork is boring, tiring, he said:

Sleeping on the Job!
Eventually, I started to look for the missing document and found the file in a stack of files I had kept on top of my filing cabinet (because there isn't room for them in the file cabinet).  I had looked through that stack, earlier, but not gone through them, carefully.  Today, I found the missing file folder, inside another file folder of similar documents!  I was so happy to find it!   Now, I don't need to go to the County records to request another copy and I can go ahead and make the necessary changes to my personnel file with Human Resources.  I also think I need to buy another file cabinet!  I keep thinking I can declutter my existing file cabinet and make room for the other folders, but I think another file cabinet is needed.

In the evening, I watered the front garden (I had watered the back garden in the morning).  Then, I called cousin V; her daughter and baby grandson are visiting from New York, and I called to see if I could visit tomorrow evening to see the little one.

I had leftovers from yesterday's Indian food for brunch.  For dinner, I made pork fried rice with the last pork chop and leftover rice, a handful of frozen green peas, an egg, and some peanuts.  The last of the cantaloupe for dessert.  Later, I washed the dishes, emailed a friend, and, of course, chatted with daughter.  My computer had been acting up all day - freezing and crashing - but, it seems to have sorted itself!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Finding the missing document!
- A lovely, sunny, hot, day.
- Dancer helping with the paperwork and filing!
- A productive day
- A working computer!

Plans for tomorrow include:
- Putting away the dried laundry from today
- Putting away the washed dishes (I leave them to air dry in the dish drainer, overnight)
- Another load or two of laundry
- Giving Dancer his flea meds. (oh, he's not going to like it!)
- Shopping for cat food, cat litter, more flea meds, batteries for the clock, laundry detergent, and a small gift for cousin's grandson
- Visit cousin in the evening

How was your Saturday?  What have you planned for Sunday?

  1. Yay, you found your document. And what is it about cats that they have to be in the middle of everything? :)

  2. I think you must be training yourself for retirement, when you will be able to sleep in, almost any morning you choose. It is certainly nice not to have to rush up in the morning. Sometimes we do get up early by choice, but it feels like an imposition if we must get up early for an early appointment.

Some of us have got procrastinating down to a fine art, haven't we? So glad you found your document in the end.
I used to suspect one of our cats was lying on papers to secretly photocopy them in some way.

I am pretty sure it is spring. The trees are budding fast and the squirrels are chasing each other all over. It was quite comical to see one chasing another round and round the trunk of a huge white pine, more or less doing horizontal rounds.

    1. Ha, ha, being able to sleep in is something I am looking forward to! As I told a friend of mine, all my appointments are going to be for the afternoon! LOL.

It certainly sounds like it is spring up there! High time, too, I would say! I'm sure you are looking forward to the warmer weather and all the flowers and leaves. Sounds like the squirrels are happy that it is spring. :)
