This yellow rose is the first spring rose in my garden, this year! It is a vivid yellow and even gardener M commented on it.
Today, I filled out the form that was part of the jury duty summons and registered for jury duty over the phone. I am to start my period of jury service on Monday, March 28. I have to call in on the night before to find out if I am required to go to the courthouse in person, or not. If I am not required to report in person, then, I need to call in on Monday night to find out if I need to go in on Tuesday, and so forth, until Friday. If I am not required to report in person on Friday, then, I would be considered to have served my jury duty for this year. If I am required to report in person on any of the days during that week, then, I have to go in and be available to be selected for a jury panel. If I am selected to be on a jury panel, then, that would count as my first day of jury duty and I will complete my jury service only after the trial ends. If, however, I am not selected to be on a jury panel at the end of the day I report in person, then, I will be excused from having to do jury duty for the rest of the year. I am hoping that I will be able to call in every day and not be required to report in person!
Later, in the afternoon, I got my tax documents folder organized (I have been putting all the tax documents in the file folder as I received them in the mail, but, there were one or two other items I needed to get from other file folders to complete all the documents I needed) and took the documents over to the accountant's office. I had intended to just drop off the file with the receptionist, but, my accountant was in the office and when she saw me, she came out of her office to greet me with a hug! We were both masked and I was very glad that I had a N95 mask on! Oh, the tricky parts of social interaction during the time of Covid! I handed the documents over to her and we chatted for a few minutes before I left. She will call me to go over the tax forms when she's completed them. I used to do my own taxes a long time ago, but, I prefer to have them done by a professional, these days.
M was watering the garden when I got back from dropping off my tax documents. He took the metal shelving unit out of the garage, hosed it down for me, brushed the cobwebs on the wall behind the shelving unit, swept that area of the floor, and put the shelving unit back for me.
I finally made the pancakes my daughter wanted me to make for brunch, today. The thin pancakes, with sugar and lemon juice. Daughter had a couple of them with Nutella and banana slices, as well! Later, for dinner, I cooked salmon, rice, and asparagus. Then, I baked a pan of brownies for dessert! Afterwards, I ran the dishwasher.
Today, I am grateful for:
- The first rose of the season
- M helping me with the garage cleaning, as well as the garden
- A safe drive to the tax accountant's office and back
- Working appliances
- Electricity to run them
