January Joys

For me, the biggest joy in January is having daughter home.  But, in addition to that, January Joys will include:

1.  A warm and welcoming home
2.  Winter gardening
3.  The Winter Photo Scavenger Hunt
4.  January Monthly Photo Mini Challenge
5.  Baking (pie, bread, scones, cake)
6.  Enjoying some candle light in the evenings
7.  Crafting
8.  Music (playing, listening, singing)

What are some of your January Joys?

  1. I like your list and especially the fact that you have your daughter at home with you.

I have photography, reading, piano, and family tree research on my January joy list.

    1. It sounds like you have a good list of joys for January, yourself, Eileen. Too often, January feels a bit of a let down after December's excitement over the holidays, so it is especially important to have some joyful experiences to look forward to. :)

  3. There are some lovely joys there, Bless. I think I am going to focus on creating a warm and cosy home. Other than for topping up the bird seed and water, I usually keep out of the garden at this time of year, it's just a damp and muddy mess. X

    1. Thank you, Jules; I like the thought of you focusing on a warm and cozy home. It's what is needed in January and it will feel especially nice when you come home from one of your many walks!

  4. I have Son3 and DIL3 here until mid month, Son2 and DIL2 are visiting some and TheHub has taken a little time off work (OK actually just Christmas Day and NYD but since it wraps around a weekend it feel like he is actually taking time off) and that is my greatest joy. Anything other than that is just incidental joy!

    1. Some family togetherness time is to be treasures, especially these days, isn't it? I'm glad your Son3 and DIL3 will be with you until mid month and you get to enjoy their company a bit longer. :)

  6. We have just been told that we will once again be in national lockdown from midnight tonight so I don't know when I will next see my children or grandchildren. It's such a sad time, isn't it? But you have found things to feel glad about and I must try harder to do so. X

    2. I love your list. Mine includes: long phone conversations with close friends, beautiful, snow covered trees, majestic mountains, lovely land, and fresh oranges from my trees.

    3. That's a great list, Stephenie. Ah, yes, fresh oranges from our trees - that's such a blessing, isn't it?

  7. Seeing the shadows of trees on the snow at night when the moon is out. Chance meetings with neighbours and/or dogs on the way to the mailbox. Our fake electric woodstove which makes the living room look cozy (no need for its heater while the real wood furnace in the basement is keeping us warm.) DH keeping the wood box full. Seeing the birds at the feeders. Keeping in touch with family and friends via e-mail and Skype.

    1. Another lovely list of joys, Bushlady. I can just imagine how lovely it must be to see the shadows of trees on the snow in the moonlight - it sounds very peaceful, too.
