Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, my daughter and I took gifts over to neighbor T and wished her a Merry Christmas.

Then, we went out to lunch at the Sri Lankan restaurant as a Christmas Eve treat.  We bought patties and fish rolls to snack on, in the evening, and a pudding we call watalappan.

After that, we stopped by the Sri Lankan store - they didn't have the special tea I like, but, I bought a few other items I wanted, including curry powder and frozen seer fish.

Then, we went to the crafts store so daughter could buy some craft supplies to make some gifts for her friends and I treated myself to a new hot glue gun and a packet of glue sticks.

We also stopped at a grocery store to pick up some half and half, a dessert to take to my cousin's, and cat food.  The store wasn't crowded, at all, which was nice.

On the way home, we drove over to friend R's to give her the parcel of food we had bought for her from the Sri Lankan restaurant as a surprise Christmas Eve treat.  She was so happy!

After we came home and had tea, I ran the dish washer and wrapped the very last of the Christmas gifts.  Daughter put them all in the trunk of the car - everything has been put in clean trash bags so that the gifts stay dry if it rains, tomorrow, as the weather forecast says it will.

I am watching Midnight Mass from the Vatican as I type this - watching it is one of my Christmas traditions.

Today, I am grateful for:
- Having daughter home for the holidays
- Having Sri Lankan restaurants in the neighborhood
- Being able to bring a treat to my friend
- Being able to watch Midnight Mass
- Holiday treats

Happy Christmas!
