I spent most of the day doing office work. But, in the afternoon, I went to the pharmacy to pick up my medication refills. I received $5 in Extra Care Bucks, and I spent several minutes looking around to see what I wanted to get with them. In the end, however, I left without getting anything! How sad is that? But I didn't see anything I needed or wanted! After I came home, I asked my daughter if she needed anything. She suggested a couple of things and I'll get them for her, the next time I go to the store.
I had wanted to go to the garden center to get a few things, but I decided to wait until tomorrow or the weekend.
Brunch was the last of the pasta and fish curry, with a banana for dessert. In the evening, I had a nutritional drink instead of my usual tea. Dinner was two of the frozen battered fish fillets, baked, and served with lettuce, corn, and carrots:

Your meal looks so colourful! Lovely to get some warm weather and sunshine, the perfect reason to open the windows. Enjoy your trip to the garden centre. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. Trying to get more veggies into my diet! Yes, enjoying the warm weather; spring is here, I believe! Hope spring is starting to make an appearance in your corner of the world, too. :)
DeleteI think it's a nice sign of a contented life that you couldn't think of anything you wanted in the store. Glad to read that you are getting some sun at last!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Jane
Thank you, Jane. I suppose I could have used the coupon towards something like toilet paper, that we all need all the time! LOL. I might still do that.
DeleteYour dinner looked very good.. And a beautiful plate too.
ReplyDeleteProud you had a good day.. The weather sounds wonderful. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you, Judy. I'm trying to incorporate more salads and vegetables into my meals. The plate is from a set that was a gift from a friend, way back in the 80s! The pattern featured different herbs. I only have this one plate left, as everything else chipped or broke over the years! But I don't mind having mismatched china, so it works out.
DeleteHope you are having a lovely day and hope you have a great weekend, too.
Good Morning Bless! :) That is sure nice of you to use your extra care bucks to pick up some things for your daughter. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely day today and this weekend!
Hi Debbie! Thanks, but I'd rather use them to get something she needs than just buy something I don't really need. Although, as I mentioned in my reply to Jane, above, I guess I could always buy toilet paper and it will be used! :) Maybe next time!
DeleteYour dinner looks yummy. I think I could eat fish most every day!
ReplyDeleteSo far today I gave done a load of white washing, run the vacuum cleaner, dusted the family room, cleaned bathroom and kitchen. Now having my eleven o'clock coffee with a graham cracker.
Those Extra Care Bucks are handy and usually are good for awhile. i especially is.lym.ike to use them on something that is already on sale so they stretch even further.
Sandy
Thank you, Sandy; I like how the dinner turned out. The fish fillets were very good and the carrot sticks were almost as good as chips. Well, maybe not quite, but we'll pretend! :D
DeleteSounds like you've had a busy and productive day! Well done on all the cleaning you did.
I wondered whether to get some eggs with my ECB - on sale this week for $1.49 and maybe some cereal or snacks with the remaining $3.50. But I really didn't want anything, so decided not to. Next time, I'll just buy something like toilet paper, which is always useful to have!
The warmer days are nice aren't they? So glad you were able to get things done! I am being a slacker right now and am not sure why. Spring fever maybe?
ReplyDeleteWarmer days are definitely nice. So is the break from all that rain we had! Maybe you just need to rest a bit and do something that is relaxing and fun? Hope you have a fun weekend.
DeleteWe're on a veggie drive here as well. Tonight we had carrots and swede mashed together. I love it but don't bother very often because cutting the swede is hard work!
ReplyDeleteOh that's typical isn't it, getting a voucher and not needing anything. Good job DD is able to help you spend it :)
Enjoy your trip to the garden centre and have a lovely weekend. xx
You know, I don't think I've ever had a swede (or rutabaga, as they are called here)! I tried kholrabi for the first time a little over a year ago (and decided I preferred it raw, mixed with apples, in a salad), better than cooked. I might have to give swedes a try (along with parsnips - something else I haven't tried!)
DeleteRutabagas are delicious and so are parsnips!
ReplyDeleteYour ECBs are good for a month so you have plenty of time to use them :)
I'm glad you had a good day, Bless! Have a great weekend!
I definitely need to try some of these "new to me" vegetables! I tend to stick to the tried and true, too much.
DeleteHope you, too, have a good weekend, Nathalie.
Pleased that your day was good you meal looked yummy, I am trying to get more veg in my diet as well, had a chilli stir fry tonight. Isn't it funny when you have vouchers or spare money to spend you can never find anything you want, but when you dont there are heaps of things!
ReplyDeleteI had physio yesterday and it sure tired me out, I haven't even turned the computer on in the last 24 hours, unheard of! Feel better now though. Have a good weekend.
Sharon, sorry you were so tired after your physio, but glad you are feeling better now. Yes, you are right - when you have vouchers or spare cash, you can't think of anything you need! Next time, I'm just going to buy something like toilet paper! LOL.
DeleteHope you have a lovely weekend, Sharon.
