Quiet Wednesday

I woke up feeling tired, so called my supervisor and informed her I will be working from home.  She was fine with it.  I took plenty of breaks while I did my office work.  During one of the breaks, my aunt called and I had a nice chat with her.  During another break, I walked up and down my block for a bit, in the afternoon.  One of the benefits of working from home is I can take as many breaks as I need.

However, as a consequence of taking frequent breaks, the work day got spread out from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., which was when I sent an email to my supervisor giving her an update on the project I'm working on currently.  After I was done with my office work for the day, I did the dishes, chatted with my cousin and a friend who called, and video chatted with my daughter.

I am grateful for:
- Being able to work from home
- A sunny day
- Phone calls and emails from family and friends
- My daughter always sharing a detailed account of her day with me
- The flowers blooming in the garden

Another benefit of working from home is, I get to watch Dancer sleep in front of the heater:

How was your Wednesday?

  1. You are so fortunate to have some flexibility with your job and also the ability to know what your limits are!

    1. Anne, yes, I am blessed to have the flexibility I have with my job. Working there for over 33 years has its benefits! :) I am slowly learning my limits and admitting them, but only after the black out and fall in December! That really shook me to the core!

  2. It's good that you can still work from home and pace yourself. I'm sure having Dancer around is an added blessing. I love the way animals are so uninhibited in the way they just sprawl around and relax.

On my Wednesday DH went round the yard on snowshoes but I didn't join him because I am having problems with the bindings coming undone and I don't like my boots! I really should solve both problems. The boots are so big (like my feet) and I would be better off with mukluks, but they seem to cost around $230-$260CAN! I just need something narrower. I used to have an old pair of suede dress boots that were ideal but eventually they were done for and I had to find something else. As for the bindings, the plastic goes hard in the cold and if the snowshoes come off, it is so hard to fix out in the open. So I just walked up the road to the communal mail boxes instead.

    1. I would really like to get to the point where I can go into the office on a daily basis, without needing a nap when I get home!

I'm sorry the new footwear is so expensive! But a good pair of boots that can withstand the snow sounds like an essential item, over there! Hope you'll find a good sale on them, soon.

    2. Fortunately I do have good dress boots and my favourite "old lady" zip-front booties for everyday, but the big, heavy lace-up ones I have for snowshoeing were a mistake!

    3. Maybe there will be some "end of winter" sales coming up and you can find a more suitable pair at a good price, Bushlady. Might be too late for this year, but you'll be prepared for next winter. In the meantime, would you be able to put aside $30 per month from February till November? Is there enough wiggle room in your budget for that? If so, then, by the end of November, you'll have saved $300 for a new pair of boots. That is what I would do - I don't feel bad about spending $$ if I know I have saved up for it.

    1. Yes, he was a happy kitty - his tummy was full, his mummy was home, and the heater was on! All was well with his world!

  4. Dancer has it all figured out.. Adorable.. smile
Proud you worked from home...even though it was a longer day... You got the work done and allowed you to rest, when needed..
Hope you have a good evening.

    1. Thanks, Judy. Yes, Dancer certainly has it all figured out, doesn't he? There are pros and cons to working from home vs. working at the office, but I am thankful I have the option to do either, at this point.

Hope your week is going well.
