Dancer Lends a Helping Paw
Hello blog friends! It's Dancer, here! It's been a long time since I last did a blog post, isn't it? But, I simply had to update you on this quilt my Mummy has trying to make! I know she's been telling you that she's making a quilt with all the scrap pieces of fabric she has in her baskets. But, you all know that she can't do them on her own! She tries to, bless her heart, but, she needs help! A lot of help! Which is where I come in! I am her most helpful assistant!
Mummy has been worried that one side of her quilt was wider than the other, so she tried to narrow it down by cutting a strip of it off to straighten it and now she's saying it is longer on the other side! Oh, no, Mummy, that's not how you make it more even! Let me show you how it should be done!
"First you lie on it and then you squirm; that makes it more even"
"Then you pull up one corner, take another patchwork piece, and..."
"You take a nap because helping Mummy is hard work"
And there you have it! Job all done! I tell you, blog friends, she really can't sew a quilt without me helping her!
Dancer, that is a lovely quilt, and so are you! It's very good of you to help your Mummy out, I'm sure she couldn't have made the quilt without you!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Celie! Mummy has told me that you have your own little helper! :)Delete
Oh what a lovely post! Dancer is as entranced by the quilt making as I am.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Angela. Maybe you'll make a crib quilt for your new grandson!Delete
Well hello Dancer how nice to meet you, I've heard quite a lot about you. I hope Mummy is listening to your expert advice on quilt making, so good of you to assist her. Keep up the good work :)ReplyDelete
Thank you, Eileen. I'm always helping Mummy with her projects! She really needs my help, you know. Mummy says you have a helper named Tilly!Delete
Thank goodness she has you around to lend a helping paw. XxReplyDelete
Exactly, Jules! Does Mog help you as much as I help Mummy?Delete
Hello Dancer, it's lovely to hear from you again and to get the full story of just how much you are helping your Mummy with the quilt. I don't know how she'd manage if you weren't helping her! 😂ReplyDelete
I tell you, Eileen, she wouldn't be able to manage at all if I didn't help! She grumbled because I bit through a piece of fabric and she had to unpick it and toss it, but, I was only trying to show her that it wasn't a good piece to put in the quilt! She really doesn't appreciate my help at times!Delete
Nothing like a helping paw to make things right!ReplyDelete
You have that right, Anne! Mummy says your neighbor's cat helps you with pest control in the garden! I'm not allowed to go out in the garden, but, I help around the house.Delete
We could all use a helper like you, Dancer! :)ReplyDelete
Thank you, June; I'm sure that Annie and Leo help you all the time, too. :)Delete
Well, Dancer, I had wondered where you were while Mummy struggled with the latest quilt, but I should have known that you wouldn't be far away. I'm not sure where you got your quilting expertise from, though. It does seem a little unusual, but who knows, you might have invented a whole new quilting hack!ReplyDelete
Hello Bushlady! I've been here helping Mummy, all along! I chewed through a piece of fabric, earlier, and Mummy complained about that, but, how else was I to show her that it wasn't good enough for the quilt? Oh, I'm naturally talented when it comes to quilt making! I just know what makes a comfy quilt! :)Delete
Hi Dancer, nice to meet you. I am not surprised you needed a rest after all that hard work. No doubt things are finally back on track with the quilt now, and I hope your input has been properly recognised (and rewarded).ReplyDelete
Hi Lady Ella! Helping Mummy with her projects is tiring, but I try my best to help her because she really needs my help! I do wish you'd tell her that she should reward me for my help! She didn't give me any extra tuna, yesterday!Delete
I love reading Dancer blog posts. Nice of you to give Mummy a break!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Sharon; glad you enjoyed it! :)Delete
Oh Dancer, you are such a good helper. It's so nice to hear from you.
Your Mommy tells us what you are up to all of the time but sometimes we like to hear things right from the cat's mouth.
Thank goodness your Mommy has you to help her out on this quilt. Reading through your post, it's obvious you are quite an expert on quilt construction.
Especially the napping part ;)
Hi Debra! It's nice to hear from you, too. Thank you; I enjoy helping Mummy (she really does need a lot of help, you know, and not just with quilt making!). I make sure that she makes a nice, comfy quilt because that is the most important part of a quilt! :)Delete
Tom cats just have to supervise. Our old tomcat had the nickname of 'gaffer' which is a northern English word for 'boss'. Dancer obviously is an expert, please pass on respectful scritches from me.ReplyDelete
All my quilts have to be inspected and checked for quality control and comfort level by Dancer! I like the term "gaffer"! :DDelete
