Peach on Thursday

Today, was a sunny day.  I woke up later than I had planned to because I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep!   But once I was up, I felt fine.  I called my supervisor to let her know that I'll be in, but a bit later in the morning.

Today, I wore an outfit I had knitted, back in the 1980s, a peach colored sweater and a matching skirt.  The sweater is the same pattern as the cream colored one I made for my mother and wore earlier.  The skirt became too tight for me to wear and I had put it away, although I continued to wear the sweater.  I put in a new elastic to the skirt's waistband, last weekend, and it fits perfectly now, although the sweater is a bit too big now!  I need to figure out how to pull up the sleeves at the shoulder, without taking it all apart.  But I thought it wasn't too bad, and I received a lot of compliments on my outfit, today:

Knitted Peach Two Piece

My day at the office went very well and I stayed at the office till 5:30 p.m.  Which meant it was 6:45 p.m. when I got home.  I turned on the news, chatted on the phone with my daughter until 7:15 p.m., returned phone calls from a cousin and an aunt, had a cup of tea and fell asleep on the sofa while watching the news!  Woke up at 8:30 p.m., made some pancakes for dinner, video chatted with my daughter, replied to blog comments, paid a bill, and did a bit more office work to make up for going in late in the morning.  All very well and good, except I didn't do any housework!

Today, I am grateful for:
- Clothes from the closet
- Flexible work hours
- Compliments on my outfit
- A safe drive to the office and back
- Naps on the sofa

I haven't been posting any To Do lists, lately, because I wasn't getting a lot done and was getting stressed about it!  But I think I might get more done if I do make and post a list, so, here goes:

Friday's To Do List:
- Leave a note to the gardener
- Pack a lunch to take to work
- Go to the office
- Continue to update the monthly budget
- Do the dishes
- Clean the litter box
- Water the indoor plants
- Call 2 friends
- Call the tax preparer

How was your Thursday?

  2. Beautiful suit! The color and style are so lovely. And I agree with you that making lists is sort of a mixed blessing ... a great motivator when we've crossed off most items, but sometimes a bit depressing if we have a few days where little is completed. Wishing you and Dancer a wonderful day!

    1. Thank you, Carolyn. I kind of get carried away when I make lists! I should keep it to no more than 5 things, at least until I feel a little better.

Don't worry when you don't get all your to do list done... You have been a very sick lady and you are holding down a full time job, you are doing a fantastic job..
    Have a great weekend.
ps...Got to confess... When I read the title of your post..I was a little jealous...I thought..you were getting a fresh peach from your garden.hahahahaha

    1. Thank you, Judy. Yes, I'm glad I held on to these items. No, no peaches from the garden - I think my little tree has died! Hope you have a lovely weekend.

  4. I think my comment got lost, so here goes again: I think you need to get on a very regular "to bed and get up routine" that you follow every single day. It's going to take a lot of persistence because your mind and body is used to a lot of variation. I don't think you're going to be able to go back into the office on a full-time or even part time basis until you get your sleep patterns under control so that you get sufficient rest. This will probably mean that you don't do anything active or mentally stimulating for the hour or so before bed, ie housework, work projects, etc. You need a "wind-down" time. As far as your passing out episode goes: I think people faint for several reasons, hunger, dehydration, lack of sleep, fatigue, etc. As long as your doctors found nothing wrong and it doesn't recur even occasionally, don't let it control your life. Things just happen sometimes and don't mean anything life-changing. Get sufficient sleep and you'll find your bravery and confidence will increase.

    1. Thank you, Marylynn. Yes, I need to really work on getting my sleep schedule under control. For now, I am going into the office a little later than my regular start time and making up the time in the evening; it seems to be working out OK.

  5. My Thursday was pretty hectic; it's a class day for me and I was playing a bit of catch-up from being sick all week.

It's so amazing to me that you knitted your whole outfit! I am very impressed. :)

    1. Laura, I hope you are feeling better, now. Catching up on work after being ill, etc., is hard! Hope you are able to catch up on things over the weekend.

    1. Thank you, Nathalie. Hope you do knit yourself a scarf (just keep the yarn away from playful kitties!) A scarf was the first thing I knitted, too! :)

  7. Very pretty outfit and worth hanging onto all those years. Some clothes are just to good to part with. The skirt fits beautifully and the top doesn't seem to be a problem, just appears that the sleeves are designed that way. Can't wait to see what else you come up with out of your magic wardrobe!

    1. Thanks, Bushlady. There is a whole dress that I knitted, that I gave away once and was given back to me - that might be the next item! :D
