On Sunday

Neptune Roses

On Sunday, I made pancakes for brunch and we had them with sausages and syrup.  During the day, I watched some videos online and sewed a bit on my quilt top.

In the early evening, I accompanied my daughter when she went to an open gym at the nearby community college to see if she could ease back into doing gymnastics for the first time since her foot injury.  I went with her mostly in order to be there to drive her back if her foot complained afterwards, but, she felt fine and was okay to drive back.  I took my library book with me and read it while I waited in the car.

We had tea after we came home and I processed a bunch of kale from the garden and froze it.  I've read that one could blanch the kale first and then freeze or one could just freeze them without blanching them, so that's what I did; I cut them up into pieces, put them in a freezer bag, and just put them in the freezer.  I plan to add them to soups or stir frys later.

We had leftovers for dinner - I had leftover pasta and daughter had leftover rice and chicken curry with the last of the sauteed cabbage and some peach chutney.  This year's peach crop doesn't look as plentiful as last year's crop and I doubt very much if we'll have enough to make chutney this year.

On Sunday, I was grateful for:

- Daughter was able to enjoy doing gymnastics again
- Her foot was okay, afterwards
- A safe drive to the community college and back
- Free parking at the community college
- Kale from the garden

Sunday's joyful activities included sewing and reading.

Plans for Monday include:

- Watering the house plants and the back garden
- Doing some paperwork
- Cooking the package of ground beef that I bought on Friday
- Taking the trash cans to the curb
- Doing another kitchen cabinet or a drawer
- Maybe a load of laundry

How was your weekend?  What are your plans for Monday?
