| Sweater Front |
On Thursday, I finished knitting the sweater front, after starting and unpicking and reknitting.
It was a sunny day and I enjoyed spending a little time out in the garden, checking on the plants and taking a few pictures.for the monthly photo challenge (the theme for January is Begins with A if anyone wants to participate; the very simple guidelines of a minimum of 5 photos taken during the month are here on Eileen's blog).
I spent most of the day taking it easy, watching videos (mostly gardening videos) and knitting. Later, I cooked a chicken curry and a pot of fresh rice.
Brunch was peanut butter toast and a banana. Daughter had a salmon sandwich. For dinner, I had toast with some of the soup I made yesterday.
On Thursday, I was thankful for:
- A sunny day
- My blood pressure reading was better this afternoon than it had been yesterday
- A working heater and other appliances
- Time to relax and knit
- Access to the internet
Today's joyful activities included spending time in the garden and knitting.
Plans for tomorrow include an appointment with the oncology nurse practitioner and tending to the garden with M (he mentioned wanting to prune the roses when he was here on Wednesday). If he does prune the roses, I want to take a couple of cuttings to see if I can get them to root. So far, I have been unsuccessful doing this. Has anyone rooted rose cuttings and got them to grow?

The knitting looks amazing! You've got the cables so beautifully structured.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the cuttings.I'll watch with interest.
Thank you, Lyssa. Now I wish I had done the cabling every 6th row instead of every 4th row, but, I'm not going to unpick and redo! LOL.
DeleteApparently, now is the wrong time of the year to take cuttings, but, I'm going to try, anyway! I've nothing to lose, have I?
I have only recently started growing roses, so I have not tried to root them. Good luck with your experiment.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. According to what I've read, summer is the best time to take rose cuttings to root, but, winter is when we prune the roses and I am going to see if I can get some of the pruned stems to root. :)
DeleteIl tipo di lavorazione che hai scelto per il maglione è molto bella.
ReplyDeleteStefania said (per Google translate): The type of stitching you chose for the sweater is very beautiful.
DeleteThank you, Stefania. I like cabling because it add a nice texture.
The sweater front looks great. Well done on having good blood pressure readings. We are trying to tell ourselves that our readings are due to the fact that we are still battling the end of the flu!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. My blood pressure has been all over the place for the past 3 weeks, so, I am happy when the readings are good. Yes, battling the flu will definitely raise one's pressure readings. Hopefully, the readings will go back to normal once you are well again.
