I ordered more groceries last night and picked up the items this morning. I needed bread and half & half. I wanted bagels for breakfasts for the week and cold cuts (which were on sale with digital coupons) for sandwiches. And I decided to get more eggs even though I still have the ones I bought last week, some boxed rice and pasta mixes, and cereal because they were on sale either with digital coupons or multi-buy specials and I wanted to stock up.
In addition, I bought a different cat food for Dancer to try; he seemed to like it, but, we shall see. Just because he likes it on Monday doesn't mean he will like it on Tuesday! LOL.
Here's what I bought:

I haven't decided yet if I will go to the ethnic store, tomorrow, to buy some chicken (leg quarters on sale for $0.99/lb.) and beef (which, at $5.99/lb. is $2/lb. cheaper than at the grocery store I ordered from and picked up, today). I will decide in the morning, I suppose.
How is your grocery spending coming along? Are you finding good sales on items you want? Are you able to keep to your budget if you have a monthly grocery budget?
You are doing really well on your budget this month and the month is half over! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana. I am hoping to come under budget, this month, and putting the savings towards stocking up/holiday meals.
DeleteYou are doing well with your budget. The month is half-way through and you have more than half of your budget left. Of course, if you decided to stock up on meat, that will take a chunk. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. I decided against going grocery shopping today, but, I will probably stock up on some meat later this week. :)
DeleteYou have plenty of meat for sandwiches, now! I have run out, but I still have canned tuna or eggs or cheese to use. Dancer's food sounds so exotic. I wonder what he would think if he could read the label?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have plenty of cold cuts now, plus canned tuna and eggs. I have some cheese, too, but, daughter doesn't like cheese.
DeleteDancer enjoyed the new food and finished both servings! We ordered a variety mix of the same brand, which arrived this morning (it was a little bit cheaper to order it online) and we'll see how that goes. :)
You are smart to go ahead and buy on sale, even if you don't need things right now. I do all the time!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. It's good to build up a pantry when things are on sale, so one can avoid having to pay full price when something is needed.
DeleteYou did very well in buying items on sale. I do this and it helps if you can get things when they are on sale and buy several rather than just one. Great job. 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. Buying items when they are on sale and stocking up is a good way to save some money, isn't it?
DeleteYou've made some incredible savings by using your coupons. I think I'm going to keep a closer eye on my grocery spending moving forwards. Prices are gradually creeping up again here. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. I do make it a point to buy mostly what is on sale and then, I plan my meals around them. Digital coupons and loyalty card discounts really help with keeping the grocery costs down. Prices continue to increase, over here, too.
DeleteAnother good grocery trip. You stocked up taking advantage of sales. That cereal buy was good. And you got the rice/pasta mixes you like to keep on hand.
ReplyDeletelol
So true about cats. Just because the like it one day doesn't mean they won't turn their nose up two days later.
Thank you, Debra. Yes, I stocked up to take advantage of sales and those items will help carry me through for weeks and months to come.
DeleteSo far, Dancer seems to be liking the new cat food. :)
