Clear Blue Skies (and an afternoon moon!)
Sunday lived up to its name! It was definitely sunny! The temperature was quite mild (68F) in the late afternoon when I went outside to check on the front garden.

The rosemary bush in the front had lots of flowers and the bees were loving it.

I decided to leave it to enjoy its nectar and withdraw myself and my cell phone before it decided it has had enough of being photographed and stung me!
Besides, there were other things to check out in the garden:

The Euryops Bushes
The euryops bushes are flowering and there were bees visiting them, too, but, I didn't play hide and seek with them.

The Lantanas are flowering too
The Jade plants are starting to flower:

Nearby, the Aeoniums are flourishing:

There are also new Osteospermum seedlings coming up just about everywhere one looks:

And of course, no visit to the garden is complete without a peek or two of the stumpery:

It is definitely getting incorporated into the landscape and the succulents border:

It's what I'd envisioned all along. The border needs a little tidying up, but, that can wait until M is back from his holiday break.
On Sunday, one of daughter's friends came for a crochet afternoon. I made some egg salad and we all enjoyed some egg salad sandwiches and shortbread cookies. Later, daughter did her laundry and I caught up on my blog reading. We both had leftovers for dinner.
On Sunday, I am grateful for:
- Another sunny day
- The garden is growing well
- Daughter had a fun afternoon with her friend
- Working appliances
- A relaxing day
Today's joyful activities included being out in the garden and playing "hide and seek" with a bee! LOL.
How was your Sunday? What are your plans for the week ahead?

You have an amazing garden and I love the pics of the busy bee!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lyssa. I had a bit of fun with trying to get a good photo of the bee! :D
DeleteWhat a nice front garden tour. Everything is looking lush and happy. Including the rosemary bee!
ReplyDeleteCrochet lessons with egg salad and shortbread sounds like a nice activity going on at your house.
Thank you, Debra. It's amazing how the rain seems to have revived the garden! Like M often says, "Just add water!"
DeleteIt was a nice afternoon. The girls sat in the new "craft room" with easy access to the bins of yarn and other supplies. I believe there's another crochet afternoon planned in the new year. :)
It's fun to see all of your flowering plants, especially when most everything here is dormant or dead.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. The garden is coming along nicely with all the rain we've had. :)
DeleteWhat lovely photos and the stumpery is something to be proud of, it looks so natural. I have a low growing succulent with flowers like your jade plant. Perhaps it is the same. I will look when it emerges from under the snow! ❄️
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. I am very pleased with how the stumpery is turning out. Once those "scaredy cat" plants (Coleus caninus; which don't seem to scare any of my garden cats!) start flowering, I think it will look even better! Your low growing succulent might be a variety of a very hardy jade plant if it survives the snow there!
DeleteLove all the photos and your stumpery is progressing nicely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. I'm very pleased with my stumpery. :)
