| Another View of the Front Garden in October |
On Friday, our high was 81F.
Dancer had an appointment at the vet clinic for his monthly arthritis injection in the afternoon. I gave him his sedative an hour before we had to leave and this time, daughter accompanied us as she had the day off from work. She sat in the back seat with him in the carrier, petting him through the opening on the top of the carrier and that kept him calm during the journey both to the clinic and back. There were no accidents or mishaps going or coming, which was lovely!
After we came home, I made French toast for our brunch, vacuumed the bedrooms, and did a load of laundry.
Later in the evening, M arrived to tend to the garden and he watered both the front garden and the back. One of his other clients had given him some fruit and a freshly baked loaf of bread that was still warm from the oven; he shared some of the fruit (a guava, a dragon fruit, and a pomegranate) and half the loaf of bread with us, which was very generous of him.
We had a very relaxed evening. Daughter did some cross-stitching and played the piano, I watched some videos, the news, and a couple of the news programs I like to watch.
For dinner, I heated some of the frozen parathas I had bought on Thursday and we had them with chicken curry. I had chocolates for dessert; I don't think daughter had any dessert.
On Friday, I am grateful for:
- Access to vet care for Dancer
- Daughter was able to accompany us to the vet clinic and keep Dancer calm
- A drama free trip to the vet clinic and back
- M sharing what he received from another client and his help with the garden
- Working appliances
Friday's joyful activity was tending to the garden.
Oh, and the past couple of nights, we've had a new visitor to the back garden:

Meet Blossom! I was going to call it Flower after the skunk in Bambi, but, I don't want to infringe on any copyrights!

Apparently, my backyard is an urban wildlife sanctuary! Who knew?

The word has gotten around that you have fresh kibble at your house. :) I think you should get a night cam to see who else shows up.
ReplyDeleteI guess so! Last night, I made sure not to leave any kibble out, much to the dismay of the garden cats who are used to coming up to the backdoor to get snacks throughout the night!
DeleteSo pleased for Dancer that has such good care and Blossom that has such a special place to hang out. Best to you and happy Saturday. I'm glad you are here.
ReplyDeleteThank you, e! Yes, Dancer is an elderly cat (he's 17) and has several health issues, so we try to take good care of him. Blossom is a new visitor! I get regular visits from a possum and a raccoon, as well! :D
DeleteYour garden certainly attracts the wildlife, Bless :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so glad it was a stress free visit to the vets. For you as well as Dancer. Xx
The garden does get a fair number of visitors, doesn't it? Thank you, Jules; we were all glad that Dancer had a relatively stress free visit to the vets. I think I am going to insist that daughter accompanies us in the future. :D
DeleteDancer must be relieved that he had your daughter there to pet him while in the car. No wonder Blossom (great name !) is stopping by, you take such good care of the resident animals. You do have quite the zoo out there!
ReplyDeleteDancer was very happy to have daughter sit there with him, petting him and speaking to him in a very soothing voice.
DeleteI was not expecting to see a skunk in my garden, but, I'm being careful not to leave any kibble out after dark! I don't think I would like a skunk, even one named Blossom, finding its way under the house and spraying!
Your front garden is looking great. That is a very elegant skunk, even if you would prefer if it didn't come to your door!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bushlady. Yes, it is a very elegant skunk, but, I think it shouldn't be in my garden!
DeleteThe garden still looks very neat and welcoming, even if it is not in its best season now. I am feeling very chilly as I write - winter is definitely on its way... the clocks changed today too. :o( Envying your sunshine and blue skies, but hoping we will have more sunny autumn days yet!
ReplyDeleteI guessed immediately that that creature was a skunk, but I can't make out its face or shape. Off to google skunk photos now!
Thank you, Lady Ella.
DeleteI do hope that you'll get some sunny and warm autumn days before winter weather moves in. We have another week to go before our clocks go back.
Sorry, the skunk pictures aren't too clear; the reflection of the family room in the glass interfered and the skunk, unlike the raccoon, didn't know to pose for the camera. :D
