Still not feeling well, today. I went to the pharmacy today, in the afternoon, to pick up two prescription refills that were ready and I picked up another bottle of Tylenol, a bottle of cough syrup, and some cough drops, as well. The car started without any problems, thank goodness! I also bought a loaf of bread from the grocery store.
I washed all my bedding when I came home, including the quilts, because I've been coughing all over them these past couple of nights. I took two Tylenols after lunch and took a dose of the cough syrup a little while ago (I hate that stuff!).
I called friend T's sister for an update - T is out of ICU, which is good. According to her sister, she has some paralysis on the right side, but, I don't know to what degree. I am not going to see her until I am completely recovered from this cold and cough.
In the evening, M came to do the garden. Originally, I had thought of asking him to set up the artificial Christmas tree in the family room for me, but, I decided to wait until next Friday to do that. I am not feeling up to decorating, yet.
Needless to say, I didn't attend the birthday party I had been invited to, this evening. Instead, I did some knitting and watched some TV. Friend R called and I chatted with her for a bit.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Being well enough to go to the pharmacy and grocery store
- The car started without any problems
- Medications
- A working washer and dryer
- Friend T is out of ICU
I'm going to take it easy tomorrow, too. The only thing I have to do is clean Dancer's litter box.
How was your Friday? What are your plans for tomorrow?
Friday:very positive visit to hospital with husband. They are very pleased with his progress. Then an iron NG marathon in the afternoon. I had not done ANY for weeks, so lots of his shirts... Today will be house tidying and present wrapping.
ReplyDeleteThat is such good news about your husband, Angela; I know you are very happy and thankful about it. I like the present wrapping part of your plan for today! I should give some thought to present wrapping, myself!
DeleteI'm sorry to hear that you're still feeling poorly. I hope a couple more days of rest sees things you on the mend.
ReplyDeleteIt's good news about your friend. If she's out of ICU they must think she is stable, which is a relief.
Thanks, Eileen. I am ready to be over this cold and cough! I knew exactly when the cough syrup wore off, this morning, because I woke up coughing! I didn't want to take another dose in the night (I hate the taste of the cough syrup), but that meant I tossed and turned from 2:00 a.m. till 7:00 a.m., when I finally gave up trying to go back to sleep and got up! It is a dull morning - overcast and misty.
DeleteI think our weather has been in sympathy with you, raining all over the remaining snow. I hope you will soon turn a corner and feel better. Don't forget to sterilize or replace your toothbrush when you do finally get over this! Good idea to wash the bedding, I'm sure it makes you feel better to get the germs out of it.
ReplyDeleteYour friend's progress sounds encouraging. I hope you will soon be well enough to visit without risking infection for her. In the meantime you need your rest. At least you have some pretty knitting to get on with!
Thank you, Bushlady. I seem to have got the cold of the year! If I hadn't taken the flu shot, I'd have thought I have the flu, except I don't have a fever. Thanks for the reminder to change the toothbrush! I made good progress on the sweater, today.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear that you still aren't feeling well. Have you tried bone broth? I make mine with leftover chicken bones, onion, carrot, celery, garlic, and herbs. It really seems to be a cure all. That was smart to wash all of the bedding.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephenie. I do have chicken broth that I made and froze; I considered drinking some of it, but I seem to have lost my appetite. :(
DeleteI hate that you are not feeling well. One of my daughters is sick also. She seemed miserable. I pray we can all be well for the holidays. Blessings to you, get well soon. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie. Yes, miserable describes how I feel right now! Hope all is well with you and Ted.
DeleteOh no, sorry to hear you are still under the weather. Fresh bedding always provides a lift in my mind, and smart of you to take action against those germs. Do feel better soon. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susanne. This cold/cough has really knocked me down! But, I'm hoping that it has run its course.
DeleteThe news of your friend sounds very positive. I'm sorry you're still feeling rotten and hope you'll be feeling well enough to visit her soon. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules.
