Set of Snowman Coasters/Mug Rugs |
Sunday night, I went to sleep to the sound of rain falling, one of the nicest sounds, I think. Monday morning, it had stopped raining, although it was cloudy, and it drizzled a little bit, in the afternoon.
In the afternoon, friend A called to invite us to her place to have Christmas lunch. Friend A usually invites us to her place for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, but, I wasn't sure if she was doing anything for Christmas, this year, as friend T who had the stroke is her cousin (A gave me an update on T - she is having to undergo dialysis three times a week!). So, we will go to A's to have Christmas lunch and then, go to cousin V's to Christmas dinner!
Later in the afternoon, my daughter and I went shopping for the last of the Christmas gifts I needed. We went to our favorite discount store and I bought six gifts and six gift bags; my total came to $42.21 with tax. I bought two items of clothing, a huge plush toy dog for a little girl, two StarWars themed items for two little boys, and a household item for the White Elephant gift exchange my cousin is having. I still have to get the New Year's gifts I will be giving to other members of the family, but, I have all my Christmas gifts, now.
On the way home, we stopped by our favorite Thai food place and bought fried rice and Thai beef salad for a late lunch (with leftovers for dinner).
I wrapped (and bagged) some of the gifts, but I still have a few more to wrap. I think I need a few more gift bags, too!
Today, I am grateful for:
- A relatively dry day after yesterday's rain
- Friend A inviting us to Christmas lunch
- Being able to get all my gift shopping done
- Our favorite Thai food place
- Ginger cookies
Plans for Tuesday include finishing up all the gift wrapping and tagging!
How was your Monday? What are your plans for Tuesday?
Merry Christmas my friend! Those snowman coasters are so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. Merry Christmas to you and yours, too! :)
DeleteWhat lovely plans you have for your lunch and dinner on Christmas day ... enjoy-
ReplyDeleteWe are certainly well-prepared for holiday food here ... Paige's work colleagues (she is a teacher) have brought in enough to feed a small town, so cooking will not be an issue anytime soon- now I need to wrap this mountain of gifts which I have not even tackled ... famous last words here: next year I will wrap as I buy (oh, hah ... do you believe that? I thought not!)
Do have a joyful day with your family and friends-
Thinking of you and wishing you fondest regards-
Barb
Thank you, Barb. I am glad that Paige's colleagues have provided enough food for the next several days. That will be one less thing for you to worry about. Ha, ha, good luck with the wrapping! Gift bags might be the easy way out. :)
DeleteI wish you and your family the very best Christmas ever. Please know that I am keeping you and your loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. (((HUGS)))
It sounds like you're all prepared and it's good to know you can still go to your friends for Christmas lunch.
ReplyDeleteLily has put out a mince pie and some Brandy for Santa and is now fast asleep in bed. She is so excited. X
Oh, lucky Santa! I'm sure he'll appreciate the mince pie and brandy more than cookies and milk! :D
DeleteHave a blessed Christmas with your daughter and loved ones, Jules. Wish you all the best.
Sorry to hear that T requires dialysis. I hope that this is a temporary 'early days' thing and that her recovery continues.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your daughter. I started my Christmas today (Christmas Eve) so have eaten my Christmas dinner and have opened the chocolates 😚😚 xx
I, too, hope that the dialysis is a temporary thing, but, time will tell.
DeleteMerry Christmas to you, too, Eileen. I'm glad you started your celebrations on Christmas Eve - my daughter and I did, too, with a special lunch out and a favorite dessert. :)
Today (Tuesday) I woke up thinking it was Christmas Day. It took several hours until I realized it was still 24th. This is what happens when I'm on vacation. I forget what day it is. LOL
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
LOL, I, too, often forget which day of the week it is, now that I am retired!
DeleteHope you have a Merry Christmas, Nil. :)
Merry Christmas to you. I will pray for your friend. Blessings for a wonderful new year. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours, Susie. Wish you all the best.
DeleteAh, the sound of rain falling while you are nice and dry in bed! I'm glad you are getting rain for the garden.
ReplyDeleteLast night I woke up around 4 am and heard the most eerie sounds coming from the river which is fairly close to us. It was the ice which had thawed a little in the day, freezing up again. I found an example on the internet that you can listen to:

Wow, Bushlady, that lake sound is awesome!
DeleteYes, the sound of rain falling is nice when one is warm and dry, indoors. Not so nice if one is out in it.
I hope all your Christmas preparations are completed and you are having a wonderful day with your family. Merry Christmas!
