Another Dental Appointment on Monday

Bougainvillea

On Monday morning, I called the pharmacy to request a refill of Dancer's thyroid medication, took down the Halloween decorations and ironed the Halloween table runners and cushion covers I had washed on Sunday, and dusted the living room.  I wanted to vacuum, too, but, daughter was having online meetings and I don't like to make a big noise when she's working.  I wished one of my friends for her birthday, ate a bit of leftover milk rice for brunch, and then, it was time to get ready to go to my dental appointment.

The appointment was at 4:00 p.m., but, it takes one hour to drive there due to traffic.  So, we left at 3:00 p.m. (daughter accompanied me).  The appointment was with the dental hygienist to clean my teeth, but, afterwards, the dentist attended to me to replace part of the bridge that came off.  He was able to use part of it to make a temporary crown for one tooth to protect it for the time being.  The teeth cleaning went well because I asked for and received a local anesthetic to numb my mouth (topical gels don't numb me enough).  Only one quadrangle (right upper jaw) was done and that was more than enough for me for one time! Another quadrangle will be done later this month and I made the appointment before I left the dentist's office.  On the way home, we got hamburgers, chicken nuggets, and fries for dinner and a milkshake for me.

I took it easy after we came home.  Daughter took the trash cans to the curb for me and I watched the evening news.  Afterwards, I spent an hour or so doing some crafting while I listened to some chanting of blessings online.  I'm not quite sure where the rest of the evening went, but, I did some sudoku, visited a few blogs, and relaxed!

On Monday, I was grateful for:

- Another sunny day
- A safe drive to the dental clinic and back
- Local anesthesia for a pain-free teeth cleaning
- Validated parking
- Daughter accompanying me for moral support

Monday's joyful activity was crafting.

Plans for Tuesday include dusting the dining area, picking up Dancer's medication, taking daughter to get her vaccination, and putting away the laundry that I didn't put away on Monday!  And maybe making a meal plan.

How was your Monday?  What are your plans for Tuesday?

  1. My dentist is an hour's drive too - a visit takes up the whole morning [my appt is NEXT Monday] busy with birthday celebrations here!

  2. Such a rich color on the bougainvillea and I like the little white popups in the middle. I'm glad you got your dental work started and I know you'll be happy when it's all done. A milkshake seems like a proper reward for it.

    1. I love the color of this bougainvillea and I'm glad the new neighbors kept the plant and have allowed it to grow over the wall. Yes, the dental work has started and I will definitely be happy when it is done, The thought of a milkshake was very appealing, but, when I went to drink it, it tasted too sweet to me and I couldn't finish it.

  3. Glad you had some moral support at the dentists. I hope today goes well for you. My day includes going shopping for a food pantry donation and more work in the room of horrors.

  4. Good morning Bless. That photo of the Bougainvillea is so pretty! I'm glad you've got your dental work started. Since I dove in and decided to do Nabopomo on the 1st I haven't accomplished a single thing other than blog stuff - it's a lot! I need to figure out a better routine for the month.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. Yes, takeout and some time relaxing and crafting were my reward for going to the dentist's! LOL. Everything seems to be fine, this morning, even if a bit sensitive.

  6. The bougainvillea is gorgeous. I had my 6 month dental cleaning this morning. My dentist is about 15 minutes away, less if the two traffic lights are green! I'm glad your appointment went well and the anesthetic helped.

    1. The bougainvillea is lovely, isn't it? I'm glad you had your dental cleaning and your dentist is located close to your house. Thank you; the appointment went well, the anesthetic helped enormously, and I am now the proud owner of a water pick that I need to figure out how to use!

  7. I feel tired just reading about your appointment. These procedures can be exhausting (even when we're just lying there), so go easy on yourself. Xx

    1. Just the drive there and back was tiring. And I was a bit tense and nervous about the whole procedure, so that took a toll on me, as well. I find myself getting tired very quickly, these days, so lots of resting in between tasks. :)
