Sunny and Productive on Tuesday, Too!

More California Poppies

Another sunny day, on Tuesday.  The California poppies are flowering in my garden and I love their orange color.

I brought in the emptied trash cans and walked a bit in the garden, today.  Later, I did a load of laundry, put away dried laundry from yesterday, emptied the dish washer, and, with Rebel's help, vacuumed my daughter's bedroom, the hallway, the dining area, and the living room.  Rebel even decided to go into the kitchen, although I had swept it, yesterday.  It still doesn't go in any particular order, so, some areas get vacuumed repeatedly and other areas get skipped over, but, the general idea is, if you vacuum often enough, most of the floor will get vacuumed, eventually!  What I find most amusing is, if it encounters a chair or table leg, and there's enough room for it to go under the piece of furniture, it will go around the leg at least once!  I don't know why I find it so amusing, but, I do!  I'm easily amused, I guess!  Often, I will sing, "Here we go around the mulberry bush" when it does that!  LOL!  Did I mention that I am easily amused?

Brunch was an assortment of leftovers - a piece of the raisin bread with a banana, followed by some chicken curry and Armenian bread that I had bought on Saturday when I went to pick up my medicated cream from the store in Hollywood.  For dinner, I made garlic bread with some of the Armenian bread and daughter had that with leftover chicken laab from the Thai food place and I had it with leftover beef curry!  Fusion cuisine at the Bless household!

Today, I am grateful for:

- Daughter giving me the robot vacuum as a Christmas gift
- Working appliances
- Weekly trash collections
- Sunny days
- Phone calls and emails with family and friends

Today's joyful activity was watching some gardening videos.

Plans for tomorrow include tending to the garden with M.

How was your Tuesday?  What are your plans for Wednesday?

  1. Who knew vacuuming could be so much fun :) I hope Rebel the Robot behaves once his technical expert is no longer around, it has been a wonderful gift from her to you.

    1. Vacuuming with a responsive robot is a lot of fun! I do hope this happy state of affairs continue even after the tech expert leaves! It is, indeed, a wonderful gift! She had been wanting to get it for me for a few years, now, and I had been telling her it was too expensive and I didn't want her to spend so much money on me, but, she said she bought it during the Black Friday sale (a newer, higher tech model has come out, so, the older version was on sale). I must admit that it has been a blessing!

  2. For several years, I thought a robot vacuum was a gimmick. However, I broke down a couple of years ago and got one on sale, and we love it. It can be amusing to watch it choose its route. It definitely has a mind of its own. :)

    1. The robot vacuum is helpful for those of us who find it hard to use a regular vacuum, for whatever reason. And I can see it being very convenient in the summer, when it is very hot and I don't feel like doing a lot of cleaning, etc.! :)

  3. The poppies are such a beautiful color. I don’t recall seeing poppies growing in New York. We have hyacinths up now—pink and purple.
I’ve been working on putting together goals and schedules as I head into retirement. Housecleaning is an area that will require some attention. I don’t find it enjoyable (except laundry which, for some reason, I’ve always excelled at), so if it’s not scheduled, I procrastinate.
I love your fusion cuisine. The next time I serve random leftovers, I’m going to tell my husband it’s “fusion.”
It’s a quiet and, so far, overcast day here.

    1. These poppies, Eschscholzia californica, are the state flower of California, and I love their color. I think, next year, I'll try to scatter some seeds in the front garden, too! Hyacinths are beautiful and so frangrant, too! I had them growing in the garden, at one time, but, the bulbs need to be replanted every year (or dug up and kept cold over winter) in my climate.
I love how you are planning ahead and getting yourself organized for retirement! I put together a housecleaning schedule for myself, a few years ago, and it works, but, only as well as I follow it! LOL. And I don't always keep to my schedule! I am the queen of procrastination!
Fusion cuisine sounds better than random leftovers, doesn't it? It sounds more intentional! :D
I hope you are enjoying your quiet and overcast day. It's sunny and bright, here, with a high of 68F, but, it feels much warmer in the sunshine. :)

  4. California poppies are definitely happy flowers! I can see how it must be quite amusing to see your Roomba going around the table and chair legs. Who would have thought that you would have got entertainment along with the cleaning? Maybe it should be advertised as such.

    1. The poppies are very cheerful, aren't they? Some years, after plentiful rain, we have what they call a wildflower "superbloom" and whole hillsides look as if they were painted in orange due to the poppies. Maybe I should write to the Roomba manufacturers and tell them how entertaining my vacuum cleaner is! Then, again, maybe others are not quite as easily entertained as I am! :D

  5. The poppies are pretty! I love the term fusion cuisine. I have it often! My sister had a Roomba that her daughter gave her. But her very heavy cat would sit on it when it moved, eventually the motor (Roomba's, not the cat's) burned out! I'm sure Dancer is much better behaved.

    1. Thank you, Celie; I do like seeing the bright poppies. Fusion cuisine is the way to go! :D Dancer doesn't like vacuum cleaners. He gives the Roomba a wide berth, usually leaving the room that is being cleaned.

    1. LOL, no! Dancer does not like vacuum cleaners! He usually runs and hides in another room the minute he hears me getting out the vacuum cleaner! I can't imagine him ever sitting and enjoying a ride on one!

  8. That robot vacuum is really working out for you. Every time you mention it, I think that I should look into one. And I just may.
You did have a nice fusion food day and it all sounds like a good combo to me :)
The orange of your poppies is so pretty.

My daughter and I enjoyed the leftovers turned fusion cuisine! LOL.
Thank you, Debra; I love seeing the cheerful orange of the poppies.
