Saturday was a cloudy day, with a little sunshine from time to time, but, no rain. However, more rain is in the forecast for next week!
I spent a rather relaxed day, having slept in till quite late. I continued to repair the quilt, watched online videos and some TV programs, chatted with friend R, exchanged emails with a friend, and video chatted with my daughter. The only productive things I did today were cleaning the litter box, doing the dishes, and putting in an order of groceries. I decided to stock up now, instead of at the end of the month, in order to take advantage of the current sale on chicken and daughter's coffee. I also wanted to get some pantry items, such as rice, sugar, flour, and condensed milk (which I use for my tea). They are some of the items I stock up on a quarterly basis. The rice and one of the varieties of coffee I ordered was low in stock, according to the store website; I will find out tomorrow if they have them or not.
Brunch was some of the drop biscuits with cream cheese. For dinner, I had leftover rice, the last of the chicken curry, dhal curry, and peach chutney. I had a bowl of my yogurt for dessert; it turned out well.
On Saturday, I was grateful for:
- Being able to sleep in
- A break in the rain to dry out a bit
- Daughter's area is not affected by the floods in northern California
- Being able to order groceries online
- A working heater
Saturday's joyful activity was sewing.
Plans for Sunday include picking up the groceries.
How was your Saturday? What are your plans for Sunday?
Yesterday, I worked all day and then had a gathering at night. So those, along with the time change, is making this a slow day. The main goal is to get all of the clocks set to the correct time. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a slow relaxed day is just what you need after such a busy day, yesterday, and adjusting to the time change. Of the two time changes, this spring forward one is the more difficult one for me to adjust to! But, I do like the longer daylight hours! I still need to change the family room clock!
DeleteYour food shown in the last post looks so delicious, Bless, and just the thing for a rainy weekend. Saturday here was rather wet and very cold indeed. I did a tiny shop, picked up a couple of books from the library and dashed home to get warm. Today (Sunday) has been a stay at home day too. A few chores, a bit of TV and blog reading. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angela; a bowl of soup goes a long way towards making one feel nice and warm, doesn't it? Sounds like you've had a busy Saturday and a more relaxed Sunday. Stay warm and dry!
DeleteThat sounds like a good relaxing day with only the important things being done. Did you have to put the clocks forward? I changed all ours in the evening so we wouldn't stay up too late and then find ourselves short on sleep by the morning. There is talk that the US is thinking of keeping Daylight Saving Time, in which case it will be likely that we will follow suit and a lot of people will be very happy to have an end to this nonsense of messing around with time!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a relaxing day, and I really shouldn't feel guilty about it! But, I always feel that I should be doing more than I do!
DeleteI still have to change the clock in the family room, but, I changed the time on the clock on my bedside table before I went to bed. The cell phone and the computer time changes automatically; I usually don't change the clock on my landline. It seems to me that just when I've got used to one time schedule, it's time to change the clocks, again! I do like the longer hours of daylight in the summer. :)
Sounds like a nice relaxing Saturday. Especially nice with being able to sleep in - I always think it's such a luxurious way to start the day having slept longer than normal. A nap makes me feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteI bet the cream cheese on those biscuits was tasty!
It was a good day. :) I'm all for relaxing over the weekend! :D I've been going to sleep at ridiculous hours, lately (5:00 a.m. seems to be my new bed time!) I really need to turn that around!
