Prompt: Booger "Cubchoo - a Pokemon" |
I stayed up till nearly 5:00 a.m. with Dancer, because I was worried that he might get sick in the night and I would sleep through it. Something like that happened with a previous cat that we had and I woke up the next morning to find that she had passed away during the night. Well, Dancer was fine and I went to bed; he woke me up at 10:00 a.m. and I discovered that he had thrown up once, earlier in the morning, but, I hadn't heard him. He has been eating and drinking water and using the litter box and hasn't thrown up since then, so I guess he's on the mend, although he is still a bit subdued. At least the vet's clinic is open during the week, so I can always call and take him in, if needed.
Today, something happened to my bathroom sink faucet - I opened it once when I was brushing my teeth in the morning (to wet the toothbrush) and the water flowed without any problem, then I closed it while I brushed my teeth (I don't keep the water running while I brush my teeth). Opened it again to rinse my mouth and...no water! Just a dribble! There was water in the faucets in the other bathroom and the kitchen, though! I guess something inside the faucet broke? Or, came loose and is blocking the flow of water? I guess I will be calling the plumber, tomorrow! I'll also ask him to take a look at the slow draining bathtub in the other bathroom; I've poured baking soda and vinegar down it several times and even some bleach, chased with boiling water with limited success - I think it needs to be snaked, again!
It was a sunny day, today, with a daytime high of 75F. It was warmer outside than inside, so, I opened a couple of windows to get that warm air in! I put away the laundry from yesterday, did another load of laundry (Dancer's rug, kitchen rug, bathroom mats, etc.), swept the kitchen and my bathroom, cleaned the litter box, called former neighbor T to check on her (she's still in the assisted living facility and she fell again, today, but, didn't hurt herself), called friend R to chat with her, and watched some online videos. Later, I video chatted with my daughter; she is feeling fine, again.
Brunch was a frozen burrito, warmed up in the microwave. Dinner was chicken curry from the freezer, with some of the lavash bread that S had given me, earlier.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Daughter is feeling well
- Dancer seems to be recovering
- There are other working faucets in the house
- Working appliances
- Keeping in touch with friends and family
Today's joyful activity was video chatting with my daughter.
Monday's To Do List:
- Call the plumber
- Vacuum
- Clean the fridge
- Take the trash cans out (and leave in front of the driveway!)
- Paperwork
- Meal plan/meal prep
How was your Sunday? What are your plans for Monday?
Glad to read that both your daughter & Dancer are feeling better. Cats do tend to hid their illness until it's more serious. I wonder if Dancer had a few fur balls to get rid of? Let's hope that facet in the bathroom is running free again without the expense & aid of a plumber.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary-Lou. Dancer is rather prone to fur balls, but, there weren't any, this time; I just think he ate something that didn't sit quite right with him. He seems back to normal, today, though.
DeleteAs for the faucet, I called the plumber, today, and made an appointment to have him take a look at things - besides the non-flowing faucet, I've a couple of other plumbing issues that I've been "tolerating" (oh, I'm so very good at that!) I've listed them too, and will have them tended to. All part and parcel of regular maintenance, I suppose. :)
Does Dancer have hairball problems? I have had some cats who never had them and others who had them frequently. Anyway, the hairball cats would throw up a few times until they could get the hairball up. Hope he is better soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, June, he does have hairball/furball issues, but, this time, I didn't find any - just undigested/partially digested kibbles. I think he ate a cricket that made its way into the house and that disagreed with him! He seems to be back to normal, today; hopefully, he got whatever it was out of his system! :)
DeleteHi Bless! 👋🏻 Glad to know Dancer is feeling better, as well as your daughter. I hope you’ll be able to get some rest and your plumbing issues aren’t too extreme. And your trash cans…fingers crossed this is the solution to those irksome neighbors! Take care, Judy in Anaheim.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Glad to hear from you again! Yes, both my daughter and Dancer are back to normal and I am doing OK, too. :) Well, I called the plumbing company, this morning, and scheduled an appointment. I have at least 4 plumbing related issues, so this will probably be a bit expensive! As for the trash cans, I, too, hope that the cans will be left in place at least until they've been emptied! I'll post an update, tomorrow! :D Thanks; you, too, Judy. :)
DeleteI hope Dancer soon recovers fully. At least he is functioning normally. You are kind to stay up with him! I'm sorry about your plumbing issues, they are a nuisance, aren't they? I finally looked up Anime, being intrigued by the Pokemon blue character! I never got into Pokemon, not using a phone, but I did see some stories about people following the figures. It really is something I would never have imagined possible, but I think the craze seems to be over.
ReplyDeleteOur weather is amazing, at least 70°F at the warmest and it's wonderful to be outside. I'm hoping it encouraged lots of people to go out and vote in the municipal elections today. Our municipality had no challengers, so no voting for us, but there are others of interest, including Ottawa where the previous mayor is not running again.
Thank you, Bushlady; Dancer seems to be much better, today. Not quite is usual feisty self, but, getting there! :D
DeleteI was able to make an appointment for the plumber to come out, later this week. I guess one of the joys of home ownership is the constant maintenance and upkeep that must be done!
Yes, there was a craze to "catch" as many Pokemon as one could, using a cell phone. My daughter didn't get into that, too much, but, she loves watching the Pokemon videos and playing the different games. :)
You are almost as warm as we are! Mid-70s, here, this week, going down to about 50F at night. The house gets a bit chilly for me in the morning, but, I am holding off on turning on the heat!
We have our mid-term elections coming up in early November. It's going to be interesting to see what the outcome will be.
Glad Dancer is doing okay. Maybe it was just a temporary illness. Poor cat. I hope the plumber isn't too expensive and it's an easy fix.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon; Dancer seems to be more or less fully recovered, now. The plumber is scheduled to be here on Thursday afternoon. I'll find out what the estimate will be when he checks things out!
DeleteGood to know Dancer is feeling better. I hope you can get your plumbing issues sorted without too much expense.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen; yes, Dancer seems to be on the mend! As for the plumbing - I thought this company's charges were quite reasonable when they replaced my kitchen faucet, last summer; I hope that is the case this time, too!
DeleteI haven't had internet connection for several days. I hope Dancer is okay now. Xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were without internet connection for several days, Jules. Yes, Dancer is feeling fine, now, thank you. :)
DeleteI am glad to hear that Dancer is feeling better. That must've been a very sad and upsetting thing to find your other cat had died during the night.
ReplyDeleteI hope the plumber can tend to your sink problem and it turns out to be a small issue ( without a big fee lol). Reading through I see you have a few additional things to have fixed so it will add up to what it adds up to, right?
It will feel good to have it all tended to.
Your daughter's picture is so funny LOL
Thank you, Debra. Yes, Dancer is much better, now. The other cat got sick suddenly and I took her to the vet, twice; the first time, they gave her an injection, but, she continued to be sick and I took her in again, but, they couldn't find anything wrong with her and I brought her home. She died that night. The vet called the next day to ask how she was doing and was shocked when I told him that she died in the night. Needless to say, I've not used that vet, since! My daughter was was in middle school then and was so upset. Her first question after waking up that morning was how was the cat and I had to tell her the sad news. My daughter doesn't cry easily, but, she cried that morning.
DeleteThe sink faucet was fixed by M, but, the plumber took care of the clog and the other plumbing issues. I thought his charges were reasonable and I'm happy to have those plumbing issues taken care of. :)
Each pokemon has its signature attack and, apparently, this pokemon's attack is his mucus! :D
