Sunny Tuesday

Monday Lunch

Yesterday (Monday) turned out to be a very productive day!  I did almost everything on my list plus one additional cleaning task (scrubbed the stove top/under the burners, etc.).

The most important thing on yesterday's list was to get the tax documents together - I have been putting them in a file folder as they came in the mail, but, there were a couple of items that were mailed later ("corrected" forms) which had been set aside to "air" with the rest of the mail that were still "airing"!  As part of the tax document gathering, a stack of mail also got processed and filed!  It wasn't something I had planned to do and took more time than I had anticipated, but, it was one of those, "strike while the iron was hot" tasks!  Keep on getting the paper processed while I was in the mood to do so!

The only thing I didn't do was the fun activity, which was to make cards!  Somehow, I felt I should get the cleaning and the paperwork done, before I could have fun!  But, I played sudoku online, so, I did have some fun.  I plan to do the cardmaking, today, instead.

Breakfast had been leftover pancakes from Sunday's brunch.  Lunch (eaten at 5:00 p.m., after daughter finished work for the day) was spaghetti pasta, chicken thighs pan sauteed with onions and tomatoes, and broccoli, which needed to be cooked before it spoiled!  Dinner was tortillas with chicken curry.  There was ice cream for dessert!

It is sunny, today, with clear blue skies.  I am hoping to have another productive day!

Tuesday's To Do List:
- Dust the family room
- Vacuum
- Bring in the trash cans
- Get the tax file organized/double check I have everything
- Water the house plants
- Piano lesson (6:00 p.m.)
- Cook the cauliflower

Today, I am grateful for:
- Waking up to a sunny, bright day
- Garden flowers
- Medications being delivered free of charge
- Friends sharing recipes
- Having daughter at home

Today's planned joyful activity is card making!

How is your Tuesday coming along?

  1. Hi Bess, It's great, thanks. I got my grocery shopping done early this morning. Just cleaned the kitchen, and did some vacuuming. That's great that you have all of your paperwork organized. I've got my tax stuff ready to go, too.

    1. Sounds like you've had a good day, Stephenie. You are so on top of all your paperwork and things. I'm ready to take everything to the tax accountant, tomorrow. :)

  2. Well done on getting your tax documents sorted, as well as the other paperwork. Do you submit the tax yourself or do you get the checked first?

I've been playing sudoku online as well. I go through stages of playing it every day for a month or two and then I have to take a break from it for a while. I've moved on to crosswords at the moment!

    1. Thank you, Eileen. I've been getting my taxes done by a tax accounting firm for a few years, now. Less stress for me! :D

I do crosswords in a book, haven't tried it online, yet!

  4. Does your on-line Sudoku put the number possibilities in tiny print in each square? I used to do one like that and it saved a lot of time.
I was up late last night so I had a nap just before making supper. The sun was shining through the patio door which was rather pleasant. Dancer would have approved!

    1. It has the option to display the possible numbers, but, I have turned that option off. I do keep the option to show incorrect answers, though!

Glad you were able to take a nap and catch up on some sleep - oh, Dancer would have definitely approved! :D

    1. Me, too, June. Then, I tell myself, I really should keep up with it so it doesn't become such an onerous task, but, I get lazy!

  8. I'm sure it feels good that you got your papers together for the person who does your taxes.
(And then proceeded on to do more paperwork which is always good)

I filed my federal taxes electronically this week. I just need to print another copy of my state taxes to mail.
The software I use files my federal return electronically for free but they charge $25 to file the state!
So I do the old fashioned thing and mail it. :)

    1. It does feel good to have the tax documents submitted to the tax preparer. A long time ago, I used to do my own taxes (and my mother's, too), but, after awhile, it became too complicated (this was before doing them on the computer). These days, I prefer to pay for a professional to do them for me.

Good of you to opt for mailing the state taxes. :)
