Rain on Monday

It rained again, this Monday morning, although the rain cleared in the afternoon, it is still cloudy with an afternoon high of 57F.  I am glad that it rained because I was feeling bad that I didn't water the garden, yesterday, and now, I don't have to water the garden for at least another couple of days!

I've had a lovely relaxed weekend, but, now, it is time to get some housekeeping done!  I've already chased a sleeping kitty cat off my bed to take the bed sheets off to wash them; they are in the washer as I type this.  I hope to have a productive day, today!

Monday's To Do List:
- Change bed sheets
- Load of laundry (bed sheets/towels)
- Dust living room & dining area
- Clean the fridge
- Take trash cans to the curb for Tuesday trash pick up
- Cook chicken, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts
- Run the dishwasher
- Do paperwork: get tax documents ready to be taken to tax preparer

Today's joyful activity: Some cardmaking.

Today, I am grateful for:
- The morning rain
- Working appliances
- Electricity
- Phone calls with family and friends
- Neighbor S and daughter N blessing us with a few more pantry items, last night.

What are your plans on this Monday?

  2. I hope you had fun cardmaking! I find it fun. I like the idea of making hand crafted cards for people.

  3. We had a wonderful rain this afternoon. It was needed to knock some of the pollen down. I think it is supposed to be rainy off and on through the weekend, so it should be a good week for me to get some household things done.

    1. The air does feel cleaner and smells fresher after a good shower of rain, doesn't it? Enjoy your rainy week! :)

  4. It's been raining on and off all day which is a bit frustrating as we were promised a sunny, dry week. I think you probably need the rain more than we do!

I was a cooking demo today which made me think of you - chicken and radish bake. It looked delicious and I will definitely be trying that ... currently trying to work out where I can get hold of radishes with green tops still attached.

    1. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you are having rain instead of the promised sunny weather. It's sunny here, today, with not a cloud in the sky!

Sometimes, radishes are sold in little bunches, here, with the tops attached. Maybe you'll be able to find them at farm stands/farmers' markets, etc. Or, grow some of your own in a pot?

    2. Yes I will probably grow my own if I like the cooked greens but for an immediate purchase, I don't know. None of the supermarkets have stock of the bunches at present. I'll probably have to try a farm shop - the markets are closed at present.

    3. Hope you find some so you can try the recipe. :)

    1. Oh, yes! The garden has been nicely watered by the rain! I dug a spot to see and the ground is quite damp!

  6. In the summer I'm always happy if it rains when I needed to water the garden. I'm glad you managed to get Dancer off the bed before you bundled the sheets into the washer! :D

    1. Ha, ha, I think we are all happy that he got off the bed sheets before I put them in the washer! I've given him a couple of showers (back when he got that flea infection, about 10 years ago) and I know he didn't like it!
