Today, Sunday, was the monthly Rosary prayer gathering. I was to give a ride to cousin P and friend F, but, cousin P called in the morning to say that she was having a cold and cough and would not attend the prayer gathering. So, when friend F arrived just before 12:00 noon, she and I went to the prayer gathering. The traffic wasn't too bad, today, and we were able to get to the prayer gathering by 1:00 p.m.
Today's prayer gathering was well attended, with about 15 people there, as well as the host and hostess. I was happy to see Aunt T, there, as well as another aunt. After the rosary was recited, lunch was served: noodles with vegetables and shrimp mixed in with it, roast chicken, and roast pork. Plus an assortment of desserts. After lunch, we sat around, talking and drinking tea, until around 4:30 p.m. Then, I got up to leave, because it would take me at least one hour to drive home and friend F, who had parked her car at my house, would have to drive another hour almost to get to her home.
After I came home, I had another cup of tea, chatted on the phone with my daughter for a bit, called aunt C to check on her, and practiced the piano. Then, cousin P called and we chatted a little bit. I made myself a salad for dinner. (Live and Learn: I didn't bring any food home with me, this time! It does happen, occasionally! LOL).
This weekend, I am grateful for:
- Monthly prayer gatherings
- Seeing family and friends
- A safe drive to the prayer gathering and back
- Being able to give friend F a ride
- A working dishwasher
This weekend's joyful activities included attending the monthly prayer gathering and being with family and friends.
Monday's To Do List:
- Pick up medical report if dr's office is open
- Load of laundry
- Clean the fridge
- Take trash cans to the curb for Tuesday trash pick up
How was your weekend? What are your plans for the week ahead?
How was your weekend? What are your plans for the week ahead?
The memorial service was on Friday so some of us stayed over and spent Saturday catching up with everyone' news.
ReplyDeleteSunday was a busyish day at home, and today .... I've cancelled lessons as I've had a bad migraine overnight and can't face the noise of brass instruments playing!!
I was very impressed to see that you received stickers during your piano lesson. 😁😁😁
You had a very busy weekend. I'm sorry to hear you've a migraine, but, you were wise to cancel today's lessons! Hope you can rest and get rid of the migraine.
DeleteThank you! The stickers were very rewarding! LOL!
The best thing about the weekend, was a much awaited snow storm. Yes, we should have a snow covering here,in winter and I was so glad to see it!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMonday morning, the snow is covered with 'diamonds'! Just beeeeeautiful!!!! -smile-

I'm glad you got snow over the weekend, Wisps of Words. It must look like a "winter wonderland"! Enjoy your snow!
DeleteHi Bless. That sounds like rather a nice weekend to me. We have worked so hard this past fortnight that we decided to do virtually nothing for a change. Sometimes a duvet day is the perfect way for us to relax.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice weekend, Cherie; I enjoyed it. I'm glad you were able to take it easy and rest this weekend. Hope the week ahead will be a good one.
DeleteI can just imagine Dancer on the jigsaw puzzle. It's a cat thing!
ReplyDeleteThose Rosary prayer gatherings are a wonderful way to get together with family and friends every month. I'm glad you were able to make it.
It was -20°C in the night (-4°F) but now has warmed up by 15 degrees and it is a beautiful sunny day. I must get out and walk!
That is one of the reasons why I attend the monthly Rosary prayer gatherings, Bushlady. I get to see family and friends I might not see that often, otherwise.
DeleteBrr! That is still cold! Enjoy your walk and the sunny day, however. It is a partly cloudy day, here, with the sun struggling to shine through the cloud cover. I went outside very briefly, so far, this morning, to fill the water bowl for the garden cats. Then, came inside, where it is nice and warm with the heater going full blast! LOL!
After reading this I am going to go play the piano for a while and then practice the ukulele. You have inspired me, Bless!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne! You've made my day, saying I've inspired you! I hope you enjoyed your piano playing and ukulele practice! :)
DeleteRoutine commitments to something that gives us pleasure is a good thing. It's so easy (for me) to be a stick in the mud and put off making the effort. I need to work on that! So glad you get to spend time with your family and friends on a regular basis despite the long commute each month. 💖
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. I'm not that social or outgoing, myself, and my daughter was worried that I might stay home and be a hermit once I retired! However, the monthly prayer gathering is something I enjoy and try to attend, and I try to schedule a few activities where I interact with others! :)
DeleteI like your list of things you are grateful for. Sometimes when I create a list it is very long. Our God is a good God. Nice to meet you here. I go to women's Bible study at church once a week, we are studying Philippians.
ReplyDeleteHi Terra, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I list 5 things I am grateful for each day. Have been doing that for a long time, now. :)
