Sleepy Thursday

It was 3:30 a.m. when I last looked at the clock, last night.  When the alarms went off at 7:00 a.m., I turned them off and slept till 9:00 a.m.!  I emailed my supervisor to let him know that I was running late, this morning, and would be in around 11:00 a.m.  However, the shuttle bus I take from the old office (where I am still parking my car!) to the new office broke down and by the time I waited for the next bus and got to the office, it was about 11:30 a.m.

I had a productive afternoon at the office, although things got a bit hectic towards the end of the day.  I really need to set aside a day, next week, to clear my desk!

I was tired by the time I got home, today.  So, instead of vacuuming my bedroom and doing another load of laundry, I watched some TV and took a nap on the sofa!  Later, I video chatted with my daughter who had also taken a nap!  I also flea combed Dancer, who didn't like it and I've the scars to prove it!

Today, I am grateful for:
- I was able to go in late to work
- I had a productive day at work
- An evening nap
- Emails from friends
- Video chatting with my daughter

Friday (the 13!)'s To Do List:
- Go to the office in the morning
- Doctor's appointment in the afternoon
- Undone tasks from Thursday's list

How was your Thursday?  What have you planned for Friday the 13th?

  1. How many days are there until your retirement date? I'm only in my second week of retirement and honestly don't know how I ever found the time to go to work. You'll be able to catch up on your sleep and generally slow your life down.

I hope you're not too badly scratched from combing Dancer!

    1. Eileen, after today, exactly 4 working days, left (I have the day off on Monday)! Then, I will go on vacation from now till about the end of September. My official retirement date will be in October (haven't put in the actual papers yet!).

As for the scratches, I'll survive, but I immediately get big welts so it looks worse than it is. I need to wear long sleeves when I try to comb him next!

  2. I cut all of the claws on all three of my cats yesterday, and for the first time ever, I don't have scars to show for it. Sorry that Dancer didn't like his combing so much.

    1. You are a brave lady to clip their claws! Glad you didn't get scratched! Dancer usually tolerates it for a bit, especially if I comb the sides of his face and head. But, he didn't like me going down the sides and back! I think I'll just give him his flea meds this weekend (that'll give him something to sulk about!)

  3. Despite the fact that you only worked in the office for half the day, you still report having a successful work day. You should feel good about that. I hope you feel like you can take some time to clean out your work space. Do you still have a lot to bring home with you?

    1. I really don't have a lot of things to bring home with me, Susan. I will bring home an award I received, my name plates (although I don't quite know what I'll do with them!), and the little flower pot in which I keep my pens and pencils. There are two little painted boxes that were gifts from two co-workers, several years ago (souvenirs of their trips abroad; I keep my paperclips in them), and I'll probably bring my desk planner with me. Other than that, I don't keep any personal items at the office and I cleaned out most of my files before we moved. I just have one last box of old files that I couldn't go through prior to the move. I need to sort through that, next week, and just file or recycle a few stray pieces of paper that are on my desk (notes from the last staff meeting, etc.)
