Jar Candle |
Isn't this one of the prettiest jar candles you've ever seen? The rose tinted glass has a lovely, floral design and the candle inside is rose scented and has a wood wick! I look forward to lighting this candle and will be saving the container to reuse! The candle was a gift from neighbor S (who is also my piano teacher). Yesterday, S, her mother L, and daughter N brought over gifts for my daughter and me, including the candle, cookies, lebkuchen (which is a favorite), a really pretty looking pumpkin (after asking me if I'd like to have a pumpkin), plus a dish of baba ganoush and grilled salmon steaks, which we had for our dinner!

Have I mentioned that I am blessed with some lovely friends and neighbors?
Today, my daughter has spent the day cleaning her room, going through all her bookshelves and closet. I've been helping to tear up the bags of paper she's recycling (making sure her name and address have been removed from old mail, the magazines she used to receive, etc.) We have bags of items to donate plus a stack of old text books from her undergraduate days.
I did a load of laundry and will do Dancer's litter box, a little later.
Today, I am grateful for:
- My friends and neighbors
- Yummy treats
- Working appliances
- A warm house
- Phone calls from family and friends
Daughter and I had leftover milk rice with various curries for brunch. I will cook some rice for dinner to be eaten with some of the leftovers.
How is your weekend coming along?
Yes, I do notice that you have friends and neighbors that bless you quite often with yummy foods and treats. You must be a good person and are deserving of it. Hope you and your daughter are having a good weekend. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm not sure about being a good person (although I hope I am!) and deserving, etc., but, I do feel blessed by such kind and considerate people. Thank you for the well wishes for the weekend, too. I wish you the same.
DeleteYou have, indeed, got some wonderful friends and neighbours. Your jar candle is so pretty and I expect the glass will look beautiful when it's lit. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. I am looking forward to lighting that candle. :)
DeleteI love the way you share food with your friends and neighbors. It's nice that you get to add variety to your menu without having to cook it all yourself. I'm sure your neighbors appreciate your sharing, also.
ReplyDeleteI occasionally share food with my sisters. Yesterday we exchanged black-eyed peas and potato soup.
Sharing food is a way to show we care, I think. In pre-Covid times, we might have eaten together, but, these days, we take food to each other. I'm glad you were able to share food with your sisters. :)
DeleteThe candle really is gorgeous! So nice of your neighbors to bring you all those goodies. Looks like your year is off to a good start, nice and healthy too! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was, indeed, very kind and generous of them, Martha. I am glad my daughter is home to share the goodies with me. :)
DeleteThat is a lovely candle and I know you will enjoy using it! You have a wonderful group of friends, family, and neighbors, Bless!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to lighting that candle, Anne. I have been truly blessed with caring friends and neighbors. I hope I am as good a friend and neighbor, in return.
DeleteA pretty candle and a pretty pumpkin! I've never seen such an attractive one. Almost too good to eat!
ReplyDeleteWe got to share some Christmas goodies with DH's friends who came for an outdoor coffee session this morning.
It is a very pretty pumpkin, isn't it? I am going to save the seeds from it and share some with M; maybe we'll be able to grow some pretty pumpkins, ourselves!
DeleteGlad you were able to share some Christmas goodies with DH's friends and it is not too cold for outdoor coffee sessions! :)
