Dinner: Dolma and Tabbouleh |
Happy first day of autumn!
Yesterday (Monday), was a relatively quiet day for me, due to an asthma flare up that lasted all day. I did the minimum: washed my bed sheets and remade the bed without any help from Dancer, who was sulking because I didn't give him a third serving of tuna, had my piano lesson in the afternoon, and took the trash cans to the curb for pick up in the morning.
Today, however, I've felt better, Still taking it easy, but, I practiced the piano, brought in the trash cans (both mine and neighbor T's) and watered the front garden.
Neighbor S called me in the evening to offer me dinner - homemade dolma (cabbage leaves and tomatoes stuffed with brown rice and ground turkey) and tabbouleh (bulgur salad with fresh mint, tomato, etc.) I ate some of it for dinner; the rest is in the fridge for another day.
Today, I am grateful for:
- Rescue inhalers
- Kind and generous neighbors
- Technology which enables me to keep in touch with family and friends throughout the world
- Quiet days
- Afternoon naps
Today's joyful activity was relaxing and taking it easy!
Plans for tomorrow include catching up on some housework.
I'm sorry to hear you've had another troublesome day with your asthma. Is that to do with the fires/air quality? I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour neighbours are wonderful. The meal looks delicious!
Yes, my asthma is triggered by the poor air quality and, sometimes, stress. I am feeling better, today, thank you.
DeleteI do have some lovely neighbors, don't I? They more than make up for the other neighbors who leave their unwanted furniture in the parkway outside my house (there is a broken shelf unit there, currently; of course, they claim it doesn't belong to them, but, I know that one of their former tenants left it there, when they moved out, a couple of weeks ago!)
That dinner looks delicious. What a nice surprise for you.
ReplyDeleteIt was a very nice surprise and most welcome. :)
DeleteI have never heard of those food names. :):) But it sounds good when you described what it was. Glad you are doing well. stay safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt's all very delicious, Susie, and different from what I usually make. Thank you; hope you and Ted are keeping well and staying safe. :)
DeleteDinner looks delicious, that was very nice of your neighbor to share. Hope you are feeling well today :)
ReplyDeleteIt was very nice of her to share and the dinner was delicious. It also made a very nice change from my usual cooking. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you had another asthma flareup and happy that you had a much needed treat for your dinner so that you didn't have to cook.
ReplyDeleteOur good weather continues and I did some raking in the yard this morning and of course I am feeling really lazy now!
Thank you, Bushlady. The asthma was kept under control, today. Guess who didn't have to cook dinner, again, today, too?! :D
DeleteI'm so glad you are having nice weather. I think you have earned a well-deserved rest after raking in the yard! Hope you have a good day, tomorrow, too.
