Orange Blossoms |
It rained during the morning and part of the afternoon, today. I guess our wet winter is turning into a wet spring! The garden is loving it.
The podiatrist's office called me at 9:15 a.m., to let me know that there were morning appointments available, today, if I preferred that. Well, no, I didn't want a morning appointment, but, I was happy to move my 3:00 p.m. appointment up to 2:00 p.m. I got to the clinic around 1:45 p.m. and the podiatrist's office was closed for lunch! So, I went to the oncologist's office (down the hallway) and picked up a copy of my lab report, as I had forgotten to do that when I was there on Monday.
The podiatry appointment went well. Apparently, the podiatrist I've been seeing will be relocating to San Diego and a new podiatrist will be taking over his patients at the end of the month. I will be seeing this new podiatrist on my next visit in two months' time.
I had kept the last two ground beef and grated zucchini burgers I had made, earlier, to thaw for my dinner, but I didn't feel like eating them as they were; I was wanting soup. So, for dinner, I made "hamburger" soup:
Hamburger Soup |
No, it wasn't the version where you brown ground beef and add freshly chopped vegetables and homemade broth. This was the "quick and easy" version! I made some broth with water and chicken bouillon powder, added a can of mixed vegetables, and the ground beef and zucchini burgers, cut up in small pieces. It wasn't the best "homemade" soup I've had, but it was not too bad, considering I really didn't feel like cutting fresh vegetables and cooking. There's more left for tomorrow's lunch or dinner - maybe I'll doctor it up a bit more, tomorrow. I had a fresh orange, that I picked earlier, for dessert.
Their scent is so wonderful! |
In the evening, I watched news and knitted. Cousin P called, aunt C called, too, and I called friend R to check on her, and texted cousin N to confirm that she is still able to drive me back from my eye examination on Monday (my eyes will be dilated for the examination and I am not supposed to drive myself home, afterwards).
And, I lit some candles:

Today, I am grateful for:
- More rain for the garden
- A safe drive (in the rain) to the clinic and back
- A good appointment with the podiatrist
- Orange blossoms
- Keeping in touch with family and friends
Tomorrow, I need to call or go to the pharmacy to find out what happened to the rest of my medication refill! When I was at the pharmacy, earlier this week, they said they didn't have enough in stock to give me a 30 days supply and gave me enough for three days, saying they'll text me when they fill the rest of the order. Well, the three days are up and I need more medications! Cousin P said to let her know if I am going to the pharmacy as she'd like to go, too.
How was your day? What are your plans for Friday?
I hope you will be able to get your medication refill today.
ReplyDeleteGrading and grocery shopping are on my list today, and cooking.
I love the soft warm light of candles.
Thanks, Nil. I was on the phone with the pharmacy this morning. Sounds like you've a busy day, planned! But, perhaps, getting all that done today will free up your weekend? How is your sore throat? Are you feeling better, now?
DeleteThe sore throat is gone, but I was constantly sniffling while shopping. Strangely it's gone now that I'm home. Weird.
DeleteHave a great weekend Bless.
I love your photo of the candles - that would work for 'at the end of the day' for the scavenger hunt. I've done something similar myself.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. I had been thinking of photographing a sunset, but, I will go with the candles, instead. :)
DeleteSeveral years ago, my father started some orange trees from seeds from an orange from the grocery store. He gave me one of them and I remember how wonderful it smelled--even the leaves. I had to keep the tree inside and it made it to around 3 feet tall before it died. So I'm imagining your garden right now and how wonderful it must smell.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your father was able to grow orange trees from seeds! The oranges on my tree are practically seedless!
DeleteOne of my favourite memories of spring is when the lilacs and apple blossoms are out at the same time. I can only imagine the lovely perfumed air in your backyard. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of candles burning is such a lovely picture. It would make a wonderful Christmas card. Is there any category in your scavenger hunt that you could submit this? With the bowl of soup and burning candles, it seems like you are relishing the last days of winter. Ha,ha.
I hope you won't have any problems filling your prescription today. They should have called you before now. I hope this does not indicate a back order on this medication. Has this happened before?
Thank you, Susan. Eileen has suggested that the candle photo could be an entry for the "At the end of the day" prompt! So, that's what I'll do. :)
DeleteI've been on the phone with the pharmacy, this morning. They are so busy! I keep being asked to hold and then, get cut off! :o I will probably just show up in person this afternoon and get at least 6 more pills to tide me over!
Oh I wish I could be i your yard inhaling the aromas of your trees!
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful, especially in the evening.
DeleteThe rain this year has been wonderful, hasn't it, Bless? I love the aroma of citrus blossoms, too. Mine aren't blossoming yet, except for the Meyer Lemon tree.
ReplyDeleteThe rain has been a blessing for most of us; not so much for the people in the burn areas, though, I suppose. But, my plants are so happy to have been watered so well! Have you been able to see the wild flower "super bloom"? I would have liked to have seen it, but I heard about all the traffic jams on the news and decided I'll skip it!
DeleteThose orange blossoms are so beautiful to see, and lovely to smell too. I need an app. to give the scent from your photos!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is not pleasant today, intermittent snow and plenty of wind. I didn't have to go out and I decided that the mailbox could wait! I did some work on my taxes instead. Of course I was thankful that we weren't having a blizzard or freezing rain. DH puttered in the shed preparing the equipment for boiling sap. He and his pals installed 70 taps yesterday.
I thought of you when I took the photos of the flowers, Bushlady, because you've mentioned that you enjoy seeing them. I think you made the right decision to stay indoors, today! You will have to imagine the scent of my orange blossoms and I'll have to imagine the taste of your maple syrup! :)
