Quiet Monday, Too

I have had another quiet day, today.  I woke up feeling well enough, but felt nauseated as the day wore on.  Finally had to take some of the anti-nausea medication, in the evening.

There was an email from my supervisor in the morning, so I responded to it and did some office work.   Then, took a nap in the afternoon.

Today, I put away the laundry that had hung to dry overnight, emptied the dishwasher, took the trash cans to the curb, watered the back garden, and did another load of laundry.

Daughter called the jury service and was told she didn't have to come in tomorrow.  So, tomorrow, she will call sometime during the day to explain her situation (starting a new job, out of town, next week) and see if she can be excused from having to serve this time around.  If, for whatever reason, she needs to go in on Friday, one of my cousins has volunteered to take me for my chemo.

I watched Dancing with the Stars and spoke with my cousin who called.  Will have an early night, tonight, I think.  Hope I'll feel more energetic, tomorrow.

Today, I am grateful for:

- Anti-nausea medication
- Afternoon naps
- Being able to work from home
- Daughter's company
- Cousin volunteering to take me to chemo on Friday, if needed.

How was your Monday?

    1. Thanks, Bushlady. I am feeling OK, so far. Daughter hasn't called in to jury service yet, so we don't know if she'll be excused or not. Hopefully, she will be, once she calls and explains.

Hope all is well with you and you are having a blessed day.

  2. I hope you don't get nauseous again tonight and that the medicine helps!

I'm thinking I'll probably get called for jury duty soon, it's been a couple years since the last time I had to be excused because my son attended school in another town and there wasn't a school bus service from our house. I hope this got resolved satisfactorily for your daughter!

    1. Thank you, Nathalie. I've felt OK, so far, today.

Daughter hasn't called in yet to get herself excused. I think she's waiting until tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

  3. So sorry for the nausea.. I too, am proud that you have the meds for the relief.. Nausea is so awful.
Hope daughter can get excused from jury duty.[surely they will?]. I have to call May 31, to see if I have to come in for jury duty.
    Have a blessed day.

    1. Thank you, Judy. It's been OK, so far, today.

Daughter didn't call in today to explain her situation. I think she's planning to do it tomorrow. We'll have to wait and see what they say.

  4. I went through the being called for jury duty when I was in Delaware. They would absolutely not excuse me unless I appeared when called in and spoke with the judge during jury selection. Maybe it's different in California, but I doubt it. No amount of calls, letters, etc. (which I did) are accepted for being excused. I was a sole business owner who would have had to close the store, but that didn't matter until I spoke to the judge and explained I had no one to cover for me and that it was my only source of income. He and the attorneys questioned me for about 10-15 minutes in the courtroom in front of everyone. He did excuse me because it could have been a lengthy trial.

    1. It's probably the same in California, too, Marylynn. I think it is getting more and more difficult to be excused from jury duty these days. Daughter will have her opportunity to present her excuses in person, tomorrow, as she has to report for jury duty. Hopefully, needing to be at a new job 400 miles away in Berkeley on June 1 will be a valid excuse. If not, then I'm not sure what we can do!
