| October 23 Groceries |
I put in an order for groceries on Thursday night and the items were delivered on Friday morning, about half an hour after the delivery window, but, that's okay; the shopper might have had multiple deliveries. This grocery order was mostly to take advantage of a few sales on some favorite drinks, convenience foods, and treats. The only items I bought that were regular priced were the cookies.
There was a bit of a mix-up with the strawberries. The strawberries I ordered were priced at $2.49 (with a digital coupon) for a 1 lb. container and I specified "no substitutions". However, the shopper substituted a container of organic strawberries for $6.99! When I contacted the store, they refunded the money and told me to keep the strawberries. I do appreciate their generous refund policy!
Here's the receipt (which includes the strawberries):
Order Summary
Item Details
45 Items
Order Coupons
-$1.00
Other Fees
$0.60
My total came to: $49.88 - $6.99 for the strawberries = $42.89
My October grocery budget = $250.
Spent to date: $43.94 + $68.71+ $19.31 + $29.78 + $42.89 = $204.63
Balance left: $45.37
I am pleased with this week's grocery shopping, the amount I spent, and the amount left over for next week's groceries.
As always, I am grateful for:
- Being able to order the groceries online
- Being able to have them delivered
- The availability of groceries
- Coupons and sales
- The store's generous refund policies
Daughter and I had two of the hot pockets for our brunch, today. Baked in the air fryer, they were quite tasty and we enjoyed them.

Cookies are my downfall and go into my cart more often than they should. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I like these store bakery cookies and I've been buying them quite often, recently. I used to wait until they went on sale for $1.99 to buy them, but, they haven't gone on sale lately and we like them well enough to pay full price. :)
DeleteThe Hot Pockets sound delicious. I've picked up more store cupboard items than I usually would this week, due to the possible impact of this stormy weather. X
ReplyDeleteThey are an occasional treat, Jules, and we do enjoy them when baked in the air fryer (the crust becomes nice and crispy).
DeleteWell done picking up more store cupboard items than usual. It's good to be prepared; according to what I've been seeing on the news broadcasts, we are experiencing unusually severe storms and more are in the forecast.
I have to run to the store this morning mostly for non groceries, but I literally ran out of salt yesterday. I don't think I have ever run out of salt in my life.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a first time for everything, isn't there? I hope you are able to stock up on salt. I just opened a new container of salt, yesterday, myself, which leaves me with two new containers in the cupboard. Which means, I should add another container of salt to my next grocery shopping list.
DeleteLooks like a nice grocery order!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. I am pleased with how the grocery shopping went this month. :) I hope your weekend is going well.
DeleteIt is good that they refunded you the money! That would be a lot to spend on strawberries!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have purchased the strawberries at that price unless it was for an extra special occasion! I am very thankful that they refunded the money!
DeleteOh I like the sound of that Coconut Pineapple Flavored Sparkling Water! I think these flavoured waters are becoming more popular now that people are turning away from soda pop loaded with sugar.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't tried the coconut pineapple sparkling water, yet. But, it does sound good, doesn't it? My daughter likes these flavored waters as a low calorie treat. I like them, too. :)
