On Thursday

Passionfruit Flower About to Open

On Thursday, I had my appointment with the specialist.  He reviewed my file and did an initial examination.  But, he wants me to have some further tests done and a more detailed scan than the ultra sound.  So, a request for authorization for that scan was sent and I have to schedule that once I receive the authorization.  In the meantime, another appointment was made to see the doctor in July.  I should know more after the additional tests are done.  Hopefully, it is nothing to worry about, but, if it is, then, hopefully, it is something that can be treated.

I had left the house at 1:00 p.m. and it was just after 5:00 p.m. when I got home.  I ate a piece of fruit since I hadn't eaten all day and then, took a short nap.  Later, I had a curried beef sandwich and a cup of tea.

I am afraid I didn't do too much in the evening.  I had a chat with friend R, watched the evening news and a few videos online, and started putting some of the books back on the shelves in the living room.  I plan to finish doing that on Friday.

On Thursday, I was grateful for:

- Access to medical care
- Health insurance
- A safe drive to the clinic and back
- Afternoon naps
- Chats with friends

Thursday's joyful activity (or, should I say inactivity?) was taking a nap!  LOL.

Plans for Friday include going to the bank, tending to the garden with M, and putting back the rest of the books.

How was your Thursday?  What are your plans for Friday?

  1. I'm sorry that you have to have more tests, but it's better to be thorough for peace of mind and/or to be able to treat something sooner rather than later if that is needed. In the meantime, you can distract yourself by putting back the perfect living room and eating peaches. :)

    1. Thank you, June. Yes, it's better to get all the tests done so we can have a better understanding of what we are dealing with. It could be something as simple as the side effect of taking some of my medications for a long period of time, in which case we will have to weigh the pros and cons of continuing to take the medications. Or, it could be something unrelated and more serious, in which case, we will proceed with whatever treatments will be available. In the meantime, I am praying and distracting myself with various other things, including putting my living room back. :)

  2. Hi dear friend, you will be in my prayers 🙏 ❤️ It is good that the doctor is being proactive in having further tests done. Good that you took some time to relax, we all need to do this, as it really helps with our mental and physical health. Thank you for sharing this.

    1. Thank you, Linda. Prayers are very welcome. Yes, I just needed to relax, yesterday. I gave myself a mini manicure/pedicure (i.e. I trimmed my nails, lol), played some sudoku games online, watched videos, etc. I need to catch up on a few blogs, today. I'm pretty much an open book when it comes to blogging about myself, but, having received several comments wishing me dead and berating me for taking up space on this earth, I am learning to be a bit more cautious about what I post when it comes to my health! But, I'll keep sharing what I feel comfortable posting. :)

    2. WHAT? Are these spammers, or anonymous commenters? Really sorry to hear this, and don't understand it at all. 😱
Take care and don't be intimidated by cruelty. 💟

    3. They are anonymous commenters or maybe they are spammers, I really don't know. Obviously people with nothing better to do.

    4. I've had these sort of comments as well ... a whole page of the word "die", or ranting about how I don't deserve be alive. They're upsetting, but I just delete them. xx

    5. Not you, too, Eileen. Yes, I've had the page of "die" and the rant about baby boomers. I, too, delete them, but, sometimes, I want to reply and say, "All in good time". :D

    6. So it's random mischief? i.e. Not specifically appearing where you mention doctor's appointments or similar? Either way, it's horrible. I know I'm sensitive these days but I think I would be affected to receive them. Glad to be warned.

    7. PS Sorry, an afterthought: rather than just deleting, what happens if you click "mark as spam"? Maybe it would flag the issue to Blogger and help prevent repeats, or at least make it more difficult for the comments to get through?

    8. So far, they have been random. I first received several of them during Covid; they were aimed at baby boomers. The more recent ones have been, as Eileen mentioned, the word "die" repeated over and over again. Often, when they are sent, they are sent in multiples, about 10 or 15 of them, so I suspect they are sent by a "bot" as they say. They all appear as Anonymous. I've marked them as spam and then, deleted them. Then, there are the ones that make me laugh as they describe more positions than the Kama Sutra has to offer!
Yours is a private blog, so I doubt if you'll receive any such comments. At least, I hope not.

  3. That was a busy, tiring day and I'm not surprised that you didn't do much afterwards. I hope all will be well with the scan.

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I think it was the culmination of a few busier than usual days for me and I was ready for a break. My batteries had to be recharged! :)

  4. A nap is always good to freshen up a weary soul and body. It's hard to be patient while waiting for test results. I hope they show nothing to worry about. Oh such horrible comments (you mentioned in a reply). I don't understand why anyone would write that. I wonder if it's automated drivel. AI trolls?

    1. Thank you, Celie. A nap is usually a good thing, isn't it?
Yes, the comments started during Covid and they continue to pop up every so often. Maybe spammers or AI trolls. Who knows? But, it is a reminder that mine is a public blog and I have no idea who might be reading it.

  5. I'm sure that your further tests will simply be your doctor being very thorough. Fingers crossed you will recieve your results quickly, so that you won't need to be worrying any longer than necessary. X

    1. Thank you, Jules. That's what I'm hoping, too. At least I can't complain that they are not taking me seriously and brushing aside my symptoms. :)
