Current Arrangement |
I changed the dining area shelving unit display a little bit, putting the teapots there. I think I will keep this arrangement for now,

On Monday, I called the radiology clinic to schedule an appointment. The appointment was made without any difficulties, but, I was told that I needed a new blood test done one to two weeks prior to the appointment. The doctor's office hadn't given me a lab requisition for the blood test, so, I called them. A very nice person answered the phone, but, told me that the doctor's office was undergoing some construction on that day and could I please call back on Tuesday and she will fax the requisition form to the lab.
Later, I put water to the back garden, did a bit of weeding, picked more wax beans, cleaned out the fridge, and took the trash cans to the curb. I rarely generate enough trash to fill my trash can, but, when I went out later in the night to put the last bag of trash in the can, I found it almost full to the brim! Someone, a neighbor, I suppose, had filled up my trash can to the point where there was barely enough room for my last bag of trash! I know I shouldn't have been annoyed, but, I was!
On Monday, I was grateful for:
- I was able to schedule one medical appointment
- A very helpful person at the other end of the phone when I called to make the appointment
- Water for the garden
- Garden harvests
- Being able to help out a neighbor with their trash disposal, even if unknowingly and somewhat annoyed by it!
Monday's joyful activity was spending time in the garden.
On Tuesday, I called the doctor's office again, and this time, the person who answered the phone was able to help me and fax the lab requisition to the lab. Then, I went ahead and made my lab appointment for next Wednesday. I felt a sense of relief to have that all scheduled.
In addition to scheduling medical appointments, I brought the empty trash cans in, checked the grocery ads, made a tentative grocery shopping list based on the sales, did the dishes, put away the laundry, and tidied the kitchen, a bit.
On Tuesday, I was grateful for:
- Getting my medical appointments set up
- Helpful assistants at the doctor's office
- Weekly trash pick up
- Access to several news channels
- Being able to watch online videos
Tuesday's joyful activity was watching videos and TV programs.
It was Tuesday night when I started typing this blog post and now, it is Wednesday morning! Time passes too quickly!
Plans for Wednesday include grocery shopping, tending to the garden with M, cooking, a little housework, and picking up daughter from the airport in the evening. Looking forward to her visit!
What are your plans for Wednesday?
I can see why you would be annoyed about the trash issue! Glad you got your medical appointment set up.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. :)
DeleteI'd also be annoyed with someone using my trash bin without asking me first. Your book case arrangements are both nice, because you have some lovely things.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. If they had asked, I would have said, "Yes", of course. But, anyway, I did my "good neighbor" deed for the day! :D
DeleteThank you! You are very kind. I've a feeling the shelf unit in the dining area might become more of a storage unit once daughter moves back home and brings her small appliances down (she has some items that I don't have). But, until then, I'm enjoying the display space. :)
It makes such a difference when you have someone helpful on the end of the phone, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt really does, Bushlady, and such a pleasure, too!
DeleteI think I have said it before, but I no longer leave my bins out front because I got fed up with people filling them before I had had a chance to put my own rubbish out. Worst of all were the stinking, unwashed recyclables - against council rules. I agree it's nice to be able to help others but it wouldn't take much for them to ask first.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have got your appointments lined up. Good luck!
I'm sorry you have the same problem with other people putting their stuff in your bins. The trash collection trucks come by quite early in the morning, around 6:00 a.m. or maybe 6:30 a.m. and I am usually not up at that time to take the trash cans out. But, every now and then, I find that someone has tossed their trash into my bin AFTER the trash has been collected! Which means, I have to keep their trash in my bin for the week until the next trash collection day! I hate that!
DeleteThank you; I am thankful that I'm getting a thorough check up. :)
Your bookcase arrangement looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to make your appointment.
Thank you, Sharon. I am pleased with my shelving arrangements. And very thankful that I was able to make the appointments.
DeleteI'm glad you eventually managed to get your lab requisition sorted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think your shelves look great either way, because you have such lovely items on display. Xx
Thank you, Jules. It was a big relief to have the lab requisition faxed over to the lab.
DeleteYou are very kind; almost all the items I display mean something to me. They've all gone through several decluttering rounds and survived! :D
I think the shelf arrangement looks great! I’m so happy you get to see your daughter again. I know you will enjoy having her back. And my mouth is just hanging open in disbelief about the trash can situation! Wow! 🤯
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mandy. :) My daughter is home and I'm enjoying having her home. The trash can situation is silly, considering the city will give you an extra trash can, free of charge, if you request it. But, there you are - I was unwittingly provided with an opportunity to be a helpful neighbor! :D
DeleteIn the big scheme of things, extra trash is not that important, but I would have been annoyed, too.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Anonymous. I probably wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't gone outside with a bag of trash, later that night. For all I know, this might be a weekly happening!
DeleteOh gosh. I am with you on being annoyed by someone using your trash bin for their own garbage. Without even checking with you! That's just wrong.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've mentioned it but once in a while someone will put their dog "droppings" in my can. In the morning I usually run out and add anything more from the night before and I am very annoyed when I open the can to that surprise.
"Take your dog poop home to your own trashcan " is what I am thinking. With maybe another word or two thrown in which I will not repeat on your blog because you are much kinder than I.
I like the new arrangement with the tea pots.
Thank you, Debra. I don't really mind if people use my trash cans; I usually don't produce that much trash in a week to fill it even half full. It's just the shock of seeing it so full that I barely had enough room for that last bag of trash! I don't know why it annoyed me so much, but, it did!
DeleteI'm sorry you have people putting their dog poop in your trashcan. When my daughter was house-sitting for her former supervisor, she was told that her supervisor had the same problem with a neighbor who walked his dog and used her trashcans. She kept a big stone on top of the trash bin to discourage him from doing so, and had told my daughter to make sure the stone was in place at all times.
Thank you, Debra; I think the teapots will stay on this shelving unit. :)
